Why does a bronze get to queue with golds? Please don’t tell me there’s not a noticeable difference between bronze and gold.
For example: Enemy team is rollin’ with two gold dps and your team is rollin’ with a gold and a bronze. The golds are going to have better aim.
Why do they get to appear in a rank that they didn’t earn? Help me to understand that.
I know this happens in other ranks as well, but why? It just doesn’t seem fair; like the match isn’t even. Most of the times it’s just GG go next, but that should not be a thing. I feel like you should earn the rank that you’re playing in.

I agree with this a lot. I think that after Bronze, there should be a 500SR limit same as Masters and beyond. I cannot tell you how infuriating it is playing in mid Diamond and having gold players on my team. The immediate problem with imposing a 500SR limit is the increase in queue times. But I hear rumours of 1/3/2 being the role queue in Overwatch 2, so maybe we’ll see better rank balancing with the launch of OW2.

I definitely agree.
Man at this point I would put it to be even less than 500 SR, tbh. I know that I most definitely do not want to be Q-ed up with a Plat and somehow end up in a DIamond game just because mathematically I am allowed to Q-up with a said player.
I can be 2.3k, my Plat friend 2.7, someone else on our team might be even higher and I would get a mix of high Plat-Low Diamond players and I know that I cannot compete with them.
Same with having lower elo players on my team. I worked my a off to get out of Bronze. I do not want to see them in any of my matches no matter how hot you are for that Bronze Mercy e-girl and are trying to boost her. Use Tinder for that.
Absolutely I can get behind this
That would kill the playing with friends aspect, really not great

Funnily enough watching a vid of Harbleau and Yeatle playing Eichenwald. They’re both top 10. Their dps are “just” GM.
Enemy dps are both top 500.
First round defence they get reamed, with Harbleau on only 4-6 kd and he’s complaining that their dps are being massively outclassed and that they need to step up their game…

Because they are grouped up. Overwatch allows to do that. Why? Because players like to do that.
To be fair, at the top of the curve there’s a lot less players so the skill difference is exponential.

I think it’s something like the difference between 4.2 and 4.4 is bigger than diamond to master, and the gap between 4.4 and 4.6 is even bigger
Keep the diff but match teams similarly.
There, I fixed that for you
Same issue in bronze I guess. Bottom 10% or so. And then you get smurfs as well.
Widow hitting zero shots all match is same SR as a Reaper that rips us apart and has 82% kill participation. Both “Equally skilled”. Yeah, right…
Yeah the matchmaking and grouping is abysmal sometimes. The most unfair match for me was when I was ranked mid-masters (3700sr) and put into an all-plat team as support. Enemy had three mid-diamond dps and 3 plats.
My team lost and they tilted at me because: ‘you’re a masters player, so why didnt you carry’
