The game & Community Makes me

Want to commit self harm.

Feels like there’s so much responsibility on only a few players to do all the work then take the Harassment & Bullying after the team falls to pull its own weight.

Your match making system sucks & I wish I had better teammates. Or a god damn guild that won’t make me feel like a PoS after doing so much of the god damn work.

I can’t escape your system no matter how much I try. 2764 hours
-Forever two steps forward 3 steps back. System feels broken.

If that’s true, I’m sorry, and you should seek help.

If it’s not true, it’s not funny.

So you’re the kind of person who rages out at “incompetent” teammates, and blames all the other roles when you lose?

“Support diff” “Tank diff”, sound like words you use in matches?

Maybe you have a toxicity problem and should seek ways to realize that this is a game, and it’s for fun. If you don’t have fun playing a game, then you should re-evaluate some things.

Maybe your 3 steps back are from tilting and raging out at people instead of understanding that losing is part of competing.

I apologize if I’ve misunderstood you, but you seem to be a person lashing out when you should just be happy for what you’ve accomplished, being diamond in support is much higher skill than most people, putting you somewhere in the top 15% of support players.

There are definitely social structures around Overwatch, even if they’re not official, there are a bunch of Discord servers and guilds that play together. Go see if you can find people that you can help with your skills and contribute to other people.

Slow your roll, you’re about to make a lot of assumptions.

They’re not.

It’s because it feels like I gain little SR for a win & lose a lot more SR for a loss.

I accept your apology & also can see the kindness in what you’re trying to say here.

-A potential discussion:
I want to climb higher & feel like I’m capable of more than where I am at, in this system.

It’s so rare to have a game where it feels like I don’t have to compensate for other players & try to be the carry.

This genuinely isn’t my shtick & is part of the toxic community I’m trying to speak about. It sucks.

I’ve played a long long time & gave up on pretending I don’t care about my SR; the whole idea of self improving regardless of my SR.

Well I’m sick of pretending I don’t care anymore. I seek growth & I’m not gonna find it taking those 2 steps forward 3 steps back in this system.

Honestly, at Diamond, getting coaching is a pretty reasonable step to help figure out where you’re stuck. I’m just upper silver / maybe gold sometimes so I still have plenty to learn from Jayne’s videos and watching coaching of other players. I’m also a bit old, and slow on the reflexes, so keeps me down a bit.

Are you hoping to get all 3 roles into diamond, or just get support even higher? I definitely don’t have any answers for you, but knowing what your goals are, and telling a coach what you want can help them know where to focus on helping you.

I am not an expert at Overwatch, but I do know a little bit about helping people get better at the things I’m good at (I’m a software developer). I mentor people all the time, and knowing what you want, and eliminating the time spent on things you don’t want is super important to improving.

I’m glad to hear that you aren’t trying to be toxic. I apologize for the accusations again.

You’re right to suggest Discord groups & coaching… I’ve never honestly been exposed to discord and I guess my own social anxiety keeps me from seeking it out.

-Easier to access if it’s just a game function & I guess that’s what I hope for.

I want to get all 3 above diamond & return to the place where I was pushing -out- of diamond consistently.

I feel held back by the system. -I want it to not ask me to carry other players.

The patterns I’ve seen in my near 3k hours on the game that I think are problems:

-People wait till someone else has gotten a pick or even died themselves before they begin to fight.

-People lose faith in one another

-Toxic players designate one person as the problem and other people dog pile on the only person being targeted.

-Very often a clear gap in logic and/or ability

I could go on, but I’ll stop there because it feels pointless. I think the players deserve better & I think that blizzard is fracturing it’s player base with these matchmaking trends.

We good.

Did you try to find a coach?

No, but I sure would like a better SR & matchmaking system so I can just flourish in my own.

Edit:
Zax, before you go into your defense of the matchmaking & Sr system… Indirectly telling me that I should only blame myself…

Please consider that the trends & patterns that a veteran has experienced in those hours spent might speak to a more nuanced problem than what the programing of the MMR can ascertain.

How do you come to conclusion that you did or do hard work?
How much time you play a day
What is your aim prctice routine?
How much replays per day you review for yourself and compare yourself with top players via their streams?

I remember when I was hardstuck at same rank as yours (3300) (I consider this is your main role you play). Untill I start real work, reviewing my vods with top500 players (thx to crosyph) my ability management, positioning were all poor, and I didn’t even realise that until I was pointed out. But he said that my aim is cappable even to reach gm, but I do very hard mistakes in other stuff. That way 4 month later I reached gm.
Dedication is a key. If you play 2423894289349823 hours doing same mistakes - nothing gonna change.
If you grind that hard and your rank is still the same, it is not about your teammates, or system, or whatever you would like to think about, but it is just you. As soon you will admitt that - as sooner you will see progress.

Yeah this community is utter garbage and trash.

Toxic, selfish and self-absorbed. No wonder this game died, no content and a horrible playerbase? I’m out lol

Aren’t a lot of the main stream competitive games ultra toxic with bad communities?

Overwatch, Valorant, CSGO, League of Legends…?

Not that I approve. I think its frustrating… I’m just asking.

I learned to play Sova from Pokimane

I prefer Phoenix or Kill Joy though…

Everytime I think about taking this game seriously and really try , someone in the community reminds me why I don’t. This game is an utter joke and should only be played when you’re drunk , high , have nothing else to play, or want a good meme laugh. I said the community was trash once and got flamed , proving my point.

Hopefully you get the help you need mate. Causing yourself self harm over a meme game isn’t worth it. Even as a joke , thats no funny . Seek help
