Lets nerf tanks more so the dps queues gets even longer. Great idea.

What another game does with their tanks is irrelevant.
dude, these guys idea of âtanksâ are an aggro list, they have no idea what to look at other than that.
like all they have to do is look at how real tanks are used and they could find a real answer.
(2 sec spoiler, its much deeper than this. tanks irl match troop speed to be used as mobile cover, their defenses are glancing tactics and their gun is used to rout entrenched enemies from well trenches or buildings, they are basically a prop)
Well thereâs only one tank now, so queues will never be as bad as 6v6
Just balance the tank role, so the rest of your game is playable.
I only play open queue these days where tanks have less health
Way more fun and you can actually be meaningful and carry as support like in the OW1 days.

That is a user-error at least, and not a fundamental flaw in design. In Open Queue, the players are more responsible for the team balance because their is no impossible illusion to overcome.
If your team needs more heals, for example, you adapt to provide it. By contrast, switching to Soldier in role-queue to compensate for a DPS-Moira isnât going to cut it.
People just crutch GOATS in open queue, if you donât get enough tanks/ healers so you lose.
Not true. Tanking in OW1 was way more enjoyable than it is in OW2. At least half as bad, which means longer queues in OW2.
You canât compensate anything with healing if your tank has 1 kill and the other one has 15 the first 2 minutes. The tank role decides the match usually. Most of the time the scoreboard shows balanced teams but with one tank not making ground or not hitting anything or the wrong targets.
Quickplay has been horrendous in role queue lately with super imbalanced matchmaking . Competitive has been okayish
I found the design of OW1 more thoughtful, fun and balanced but that is whole other topic. It is what it is.
Overwatch also has a hero with 300+ EHP who does DPS-level damage.
It isnât anyone in the Tank role.
The Finals didnât nerf âTanksâ - they nerfed Bastion.
Sure just as soon as we remove the 20% Anti passive.

Even if I donât agree with tank nerf in 5v5, I think buff/nerf of a role doesnât matter much for the popularity of the role in the long run, unlike buff/nerf of a character.(Itâll ofc fluctuate temporarily at first)
We are already seeing this from 5v5 one strong tank. This is not PvE. When my tank is weaker/stronger, then enemy tank is also weaker/stronger too. Stronger one only gets more responsibility, focus fire and blame.
Itâs the role/mechanism itself which makes it unfun to play and unfun to play against in FPS, and I think the devs already know it. But their big ego, stubbornness and the blind faith in WoW roles make that they never accept/change it.
I just looked it up, roughly 11x more people play OW than play The Finals. Why would OW devs listen to game thatâs doing that much worse?
If anything The Finals should copy OW.

Better balance, just added hanzo bow, roadhog hook, Genji perma blade with deflect. Added 5v5, a new amazing map. An amazing battlepass
