The fallacy of "git gud"

This is one of the most in denial threads I’ve ever seen, You are in silver because you are not good enough simple as that.

If theoretically you were to give me your account, I would have it out of silver and
into plat in less than a day.

I don’t think that MMR represents skill level at all. However if you are that low it’s not your teammates fault thats for sure, or the system.

If you are not climbing it’s your fault. I have gone from plat to masters more times then I can recall at this point. (All of mine always end up placeing plat for some dumb reason, No matter how well I do, A fault in the system yes, But it did not prevent me from climbing out of low skill elo’s)

You can say I get lucky all you want, Does not change the fact I’ve done it many many times over.

You are the reason you are silver. Just own up to it.

EDIT: Oh, and git gud lol.

There is no way that this is not a troll post, there is no human in existence so self-unaware or so heavily in denial.

Good try though, you got a slight chuckle from me at least with the whole “I’m better than most players in the OWL”

“git gud” = “I have no arguments, logic, or rationale left”

This is even better than your daily episode of gm player stuck in bronze. Top500 in any fps! NVM that “top500” was never used as a form of skill measurement before OW.

“Back in the '90’s I was a pro NFL player. Why do I suck at soccer? They’re both ball sports.”

Trump? Need more chars.

You’re a Widow main in silver, with past experience of top ranking on several other FPS games. But you can’t get out of silver by playing WIDOW? The single most polarising hero in Overwatch?

It’s your problem, it’s definitely yours.

Top Widows (nevermind OWL, just Master-GM) just headshot all heads in silver where people have no idea how to take cover or position themselves. You need to check a mirror and realize your own mistakes. Throw that ego away, it’s useless. I’m a top 100 ranking player in a fighting game and a MOBA too, and all that means nothing in OW, I’m still plat.

Well the counter argument is that whilst someone of your pedigree and background may be stuck in a low ranks there are others of equal pedigree and background that are in masters or higher.

I can think of one streamer I follow that fits the bill. Not gonna name him though because its not for me to appropriate his name for my argument.

I bet you’re one of those Widows that racks up eliminations after losing the team fight for the point/payload. Great way to get gold damage/elims without actually having an impact on the match outcome.

I guess all the guys that made Bronze to GM are better than 100% OWL players then.

Man, if you are stuck in silver, you are a silver.
Also, never seen a guy lying to himself that much.

lol ,I love how there are some people who are actually taking this thread seriously.

It’s someone in silver that thinks they belong in the OWL ,how can anyone even miss such an obvious joke/troll thread ?

SILVER.

silver…

You’re not as good as you think you are. Maybe that’s you’re problem. Overwatch isn’t a traditional FPS. So leave that knowledge at the door.

Start playing to improve. not to rank up.

edit:: you got me

From a coaching perspective, you need to play to your rank’s picks to climb. Go check at a site what are the top pools for your rank and play their counters.

“Git gud” takes the following:

1.- Grind 4 hours at day your favorite hero
2.- Practice 1 hour per day mechanical-skill on your hero, DM, TDM, Practice range etc.
3.- Search for help of pros, videotutorials, post, watch OWL videos etc
4.- Do this at least 4 months then you come back to say if you improved or no

Playing 30 mins per day, with 5 different heros is USELESS you will notice ZERO improvemen. To get better you need DEVOTE-TIME hours and more hours.

"Oh im casual i cant put many hours on the character, SORRY to hear that but is your PROBLEM". So you should accept be a CASUAL player

Sorry to tell you that, but if you cannot get out of Silver you are just not a good Overwatch player. I was Diamond for a long time and when I get chance to play in SIlver/Gold it’s always very easy, even on heroes I am not experienced with.

There are players in low elos who are much better than their sr but they struggle because they solo queue or play the wrong hero. And there are players in highers elos who don’t belong there … they got carryed or had dum luck or what ever.

Not necessarily. I sucked at videogames as a kid because I had the motor functions of a potato.

If you were genuinely a T500 player, there is no way you could be stuck in silver, it is just that simple.
I am usually mid-high-plat with a few forays into diamond, and I have been in silver once a long time ago (extreme losing streak), and the game got so easy, that there was no way I could have stayed silver if I tried to get out. I can’t even stay in low gold, as I will trivially climb out.

Watch Kabaji. He had a series of twitch streams recently where he played the first game from high gold. The rule was that he could not play his main Tracer, and that he had to fill. He would most often play heroes that weren’t his best (although he is good at most of them).
You will see, that it is truly impossible for the system to keep down a T500 player - not even if he doesn’t play his best heroes.

LMAO.
“I have a lot of experience. FPS experience. 13 years FPS experience…people say you can’t ever teach that kind of experience. I also have amazing mechanical skill…a lot of people say the best mechanical skill. Better than most players in the OWL. So much skill that I’m technically a pro…I don’t belong in silver. No, definitely not silver”
