The collab is great quality, but the song is not Overwatch

It’s a great song. The ladies definitely have great talent, and they look super cute. But this isn’t the right song for this particular occasion.

“I don’t care what’s wrong or right” is literally the opposite of the whole Overwatch concept. The tagline of the franchise is that “the world needs more heroes.” The Overwatch crew watches over the world and fights threats to it, such as Talon and the Omnic uprising led by Rammatra.

But, other than that point, there’s nothing wrong wtih it, and hey, it’s an event and we all will gladly take the yummy loot, especially the Legendary skins.

The song is honestly pretty cringe. It is not particularly rhythmic, the lyricism is dreadful, and I personally feel it is a bit too slow. Just my opinion, but it feels like some weird slice of life anime ending.

Either way, I think that makes it fit Overwatch decently well.

The only constant about music – especially popular music – is that different methods appeal to different people. There’s stuff on Top 40 that I think is pretty nice, and there’s some that I think is so awful that I turn the station when the song starts. But millions and millions of people are buying it, hence it being Top 40.

I… would be FLOORED.

I fixed it. I didn’t realize it was stuff in the shop. x_x

But you got me, it’s too late, shoot me now. xD

You’ve learned well in the Mei fanclub, Krotoan. Put an icicle right in my right eye.

Obviously the writing is usually relatively bad, but I have listened to some banger Kpop. Even from this band. This is just not my cup of tea.

Which is completely fine. Not everybody likes the same music.

I just wish they had created a song especially for this event, or at least something that matches the game concept a bit better.

I mean most of the colabs have no correlation to the overwatch lore. I could see Pink mercy as somewhat fitting as she is a doctor. However, Lego bastion, one punch man, and now Le Sserafim don’t fit the story in any way. It’s best to see them and fun little non-cannon events to garner interest to the game. Hell, a lot of things in game aren’t even cannon to the actual lore.

I mean, it’s a catchy song regardless, but my point is, these ladies have probably made a bunch of songs and they could probably find one a little less clashing with the game’s concept. It’s a better event than, say, Ashe’s Mardi Gras from several years ago. Legendary skin events are always a good thing.

Welcome to modern popmusic, performed by modern slaves.

I find the song pretty mediocre. That is probably my only issue.

it still feels like this collab only exists because it was cheap to license.

Curious what you’re basing that one on?

Yeah definitely felt like a forced collab. It features a kpop group I’ve never heard of (not that I know any kpop groups to begin with) sprinkled with a little bit of Blixar CGI magic. But not something purpose built for either (or leaning more towards the K-pop group).

Lyrically it fit the context, but it’s really a weird niche for both K-pop and Overwatch.

5/10 for effort I guess?

By comparison, I hate Riot, I hate LoL and Valorant, I’ll never touch those games in my lifetime, but their musical prowess with the original tracks and KDA (in particular) turned me into a fan. This felt like a cheap facsimile.

the song feel like elevator music to me, not that appealing.

But i dont think you are judging the song for what it is. its called “perfect night” or whatever and its literally just about 5 girlies go to a concert. Thematically it doesnt clash with the theme of Overwatch. it actually doesnt even have anything to do with it. its just characters having fun :tm: dont think too much about it

I disagree, the song matches Overwatch very well

That is it, McDonald. It was on the tip of my tongue. Elevator music. Or perhaps background music when they put you on hold for ten minutes for an issue that should be resolved in one.

It’s a personal opinion, but I can listen to KDA’s flagship songs and have them in my head for hours, the one from this collaboration, it doesn’t make me feel anything in terms of emotion, it seems too smooth to me. I don’t hate it, but I don’t like it either, I’m totally indifferent to it, like most kpop songs.

I have no attraction for kpop, which I don’t really care about, however some songs manage to please me, which is not the case with this one, which is not bad, but not good either according to my own musical tastes.
