I’ve witnessed it firsthand. It’s actually uncommon to see a good Brigitte landing key whipshots & stuns & having good pack usage until GM where they’re consistently good.
They’re perfectly capable of grouping up with Brigitte, they just don’t always choose to. I don’t play in Bronze->Plat I’m just telling you what I’ve been told, that people rarely group up in those ranks which is important to getting lots of value on Brig. I can do well with her in Diamond->GM SR, but it isn’t until GM that players consistently group up & work with eachother
If no one is playing dive on the enemy team you don’t have much of a particular reason to play Brigitte. Likewise, if your team is playing totally spread out and not coordinating you also probably shouldn’t be playing Brigitte.
Haven’t gone back and forth on it once. What you’re missing (perhaps intentionally) is that it’s not just her niche being less common that makes her have a low pickrate on ladder. I’ve said this multiple times now, her low pickrate on ladder is a mix of 3 factors
- Players not knowing how to play her rework
- Players not grouping
- Players not building team comps that work well with Brigitte (whether that’s the enemy team playing Dive or her team playing spread out)
You see a clear increase in Brig’s pickrate as the heroes she’s meant to be picked against are picked more too.
It isn’t until Masters that a single hero Brig is supposed to be picked against becomes Top 3 in their role, those 2 heroes being Dva & Tracer, and that’s also when Brig starts jumping from single to double digits in pickrate.
