Why are over-leveled borders a thing? People just talk badly about people who have played this game for awhile and use the over-leveled border as the means to do so. Everyone should have the same bullying to avoid this toxic behavior between players since the intent of the devs is to reduce the toxicity in their game. I suggest everyone be given a default border or the option to hide/display their border if that is what is desired. Being someone who has played since before season 1 I noticed a lot of things being said about others including myself. In conclusion, having these over-leveled, extravagant borders can be used against players and as a solution should be enabled or disabled.

I feel like we should be able to choose which border we want when we unlock said border. Like in my case: I LOVE the level 45 (?) gold border with no stars. Just the simple little wings on the sides of the golden frame, but when I surpass that level, I’ll NEVER be able to use that border again.
The only negative I can see to this is that people can just set their border to the level 25 bronze with no stars and “trick” people into thinking they are smurfs, but like…
Who cares about that? It doesn’t really create any inherent advantage.

no worries they already address this problem and will come with a solution for this on Overwatch 2
They are removing the borders in OW2, which is probably a smart move.
It’s funny cause time to time people make fun of me and friends for having plat/diamond borders, because apparently they overestimate how difficult it is to do so when the game has been out for 4 years. I probably play the equivalent of a few hours every couple days.
