The bias in these forums

Genji and Tracer exist
Sombra get’s playable
Brig exists
Doom exists
Moira beam has an animation that makes it look like a lock on
Widow is a sniper and has a gun that represents that

forumers: NERF cus I said so
It doesn’t matter that Winston has a gun that’s 100% lock on. The problem is only Moira.

It doesn’t matter that Sombra as a hero deserves to be viable at least in some situations.

It doesn’t matter that Genji are Tracer have a lot of soft counters. I want to play any hero I want and get a free kill when I see them.

It doesn’t matter that Brig is only good in goats and no where else. She is the only hero with a stun and no one else has one. Remove her shield, lower the dmg to 1 and remove all stuns.

Widow? Aiming is easy and one shotting everyone is the easiest thing ever. Why does she kill me while I sit there unprotected and not respecting her existence?

And about Doomfist? He belongs to the trash. No need to explain.

Someone says nerf a tank in this tank meta? it’s not their fault for being a must pick. Supports and dps are the problem. No need to explain.

But you know what’s really stupid? When someone makes a thread about not buffing Mercy or nerfing Rein, most of the comments would be “You are wrong, no need to explain, stop whining”. I’m not saying anything about actually nerfing Rein or not changing Mercy. But while you are thinking that you are right when writing a comment like that, the person who posted the thread also thinks he is right. If he stated his reasons to think that way, you should do it too. Not thinking that you are above everyone.

Honestly, what are you guys even doing on this forum?
Is this the flat-earth theory version of the Overwatch forum?

i mean it isn’t a hard lock on like mercy’s beam or symm’s old beam was. it has a forgiving range and scope yes but it’s keyed to whoever is closest to her and a tank can literally just step infront of you to take the suck.

You legit need good tracking to get good use out of Moira’s right-click, since it doesn’t do much at all, you need very high accuracy with it. Most of the time you want to be healing ur team.

Eh… everyone has biases. I personally believe the game is relatively balanced outside of Genji, who is overtuned. But, that is like just my opinion, man. I do not really care that he has the softest of soft counters. In that same regard, I never saw Brig as even vaguely OP, but their situation is probably the same, they do not have snipers or explosive characters in their arsenal.

I play hit-scan myself. You think I play beam characters? Nah. So Genji, in my experience, is absolutely ludicrous. Maybe if I started playing one of his counters I would feel differently. But objective reality has no bearing on my experience.

It’s lock on, but the radius is smaller than Symmetras previous Beam and Mercys current beam.

It’s crazy to know that some people don’t believe in that and it’s even more crazy that they openly state that this would not be the case.

Gonna hard-avoid on the people who say that.
Forum needs a block-feature.

Huh? A blind cat could aim with Moira…

I form my opinions on 50/50 mindset. Look at stuff both ways instead of just one.

You just proved your one of the people the OP was talking about lol

“I’m right and anyone who disagrees with me is wrong and I will ignore them.”

It is a FACT that her beam isn’t a lock on. It’s been proven and stated by the devs themselves. Your denial doesn’t change that.

On console the aim assist helps moira way too well. Hence all the dps moiras

Meh.
1st camp (and technically correct): Is not a lock on beam.
2nd camp (my camp): With the incredibly forgiving hitbox it might as well be an aim lock.
That’s what these arguments usually boil down to.
Edit: We all know that being technically correct is the best kind of correct

Well I also hate several heroes. While I enjoy (or don’t have a problem) playing against Tracer, Genji, Moira, even Brig, I hate fighting Rein. If the enemy plays deathball, seeing a Rein rushing into your point isn’t fun at all. And Earthshatter is one of the most frustrating things for me. But I know a lot of people that don’t mind playing against him. It really depends on the personality. That’s why I don’t whine about him. And that’s why the devs aren’t able to address everyone’s frustrations.

Moira’s primary is very similar to D.Va’s primary as in that it requires no ammo. The key difference is the type of damage. D.Va is a shotgun like spread meaning the further the target is the wider te spread becomes and you start losing damage from pellets missing and the fall off damage.

Moira is a beam damage so it stays consistent with no fall-off but like all beam users a definite range.

So you will see these videos with Moira’s beam seemingly attaching to its target when the cross hairs are not directly on the target. The thing is other beam users do pretty much the exact same thing because beams are wider then they appear. The thing is other beam users beam stays straight so it doesn’t create this visual where it “locks-on”

the animation locks-on, the beam still requires tracking. It is a thick forgiving beam but it’s not exatly the same

The earth isn’t flat, mate.

Your comparison of the two is for lack of a better word, terrible

Moira’s right-click beam is not skill-less. You can’t aim in the general direction of an enemy and hit them with Moira’s attack. You need to be aiming at least extremely close to the out-line of their character.
