Such a bad argument and i find it funny when people use ‘it’s because people are playing the game themselves that’s why they are not watching it’. Because it just shows how uneducated and delusional you are on the topic at hand
This argument is assuming that people are playing the game you are defending, ow2, whilst for every other game, fortnite apex etc., that isnt the case and people are only watching it. When in reality the people watching on social media are a % reflection of the current people playing any game.
To put it in simpler terms for you. Every game will have a portion of players who watch while the rest actually play. People are playing fortnite and apex as well, so why do they still have WAY more viewers. Almost like those games actually have interest from the gaming community and ow2 doesnt.
Another fact that immediately breaks your argument is using your excuse it should mean after people have played the beta, the amount of viewers should increase again. The ratio of people playing:watching would start to tip back toward watching but that NEVER happened. Ow viewership tanked and continued tanking over the beta. Showing it was heavily shedding public interest.
How delusional can you be. What constructive criticism? The minority of posts on the forums and reddit compared to the mass amount of players who played the beta and never came back after the first few days. We had massive streamers like xqc and pokimane play for only 1 day before they immediately left because the beta was a failure.
The support changes
Were too little too late. The devs should have seen having no support hero or changes would be an issue but they didnt. Once again showing how little they actually know how this game operates
The changes themselves havent really done anything to fix the heroes. Mercy still isnt a good pick because she has no agency, zen is still vulnerable since who is going to walk into his melee range, bap still has an awkward kit that needs tweaking. Hopefully next beta they actually try and fix the heroes and not bandaid changes
Your constructive majority is a minority lol
Almost like those 2 roles got new stuff that people wanted to try? Crazy. Also people always want to play dps and there queue times quickly inflated to over 10 minutes.
Bruh the queue times for dps went over 10 minutes lol.
Well of course they did. They werent going to come out and publicly say
‘The beta was a massive failure. We lost all online interest after the first few days. We failed to realise supports werent ready for ow2. Despite buying out streamers to come play they only stuck around for a day. There wasnt enough content and There has been extreme mixed criticism on 5v5’
Because twitch views show interest in a game. The more people are interested in a game the more viewers that game will have in twitch. It doesnt reflect how many people are playing but it reflects the amount of people who might be playing or want to play. Best measurement we have. Using positive forums posts as a measureMent of success isn’t exactly accurate
Not necessarily since ow1 players have been starved for content. They would have played this beta if it only had 1 new map because they are that hungry for new stuff.
Having a game that only appeals to your current playerbase is destined to fail. The whole point of releasing a new game is to attract a new playerbase to it. If ow2 cant attract new players the game will be like ow1 where we are waiting for 20 min queues.
Exactly lol. Further reasons why this first beta was a failure. Locking access to the beta behind time watched is a terrible idea to begin with.
You’re assuming a whole lot. I don’t wanna be too negative personally, because I enjoyed my time with the beta and I wish I could still play it, but a lot of that might admittedly have been the enjoyment of being a long time fan of something and finally getting some new content.
Moreover I find it hard to declare the beta “a success” when it got such a severe drubbing across the internet. Maybe in some data gathering capacity it was a success but in terms of public opinion I think it’s safe to say it was an unmitigated disaster.
I agree on that, Even though there were certain parts of 5v5 i didnt like, Going back to 6v6 feels awfull and also the amount of CC you get in current OW like omg it makes me wanna break my keyboard
Do you even understand why it is instant for supports?
It is because a full team is required to start a match and the numbers of players who are queueing for supports aren’t enough compared to the number of people queueing for dps.
Already explained about the case with the tanks.
The tank population is halved by the removal of the 1 tank per team.
There were also 2 tank reworks that made the role entertaining for a bit but at the end of the week the numbers were dropping.
Only after adding the open queue the tank times increased due to part of the dps players moving to open queue.
