Yeah projectile heroes are in a pretty bad spot compared to hitscans. Its sad the developers keep buffing hitscans like soldier, bastion, cassidy etc.

I always thought OW should embrace his unique side more, because if I want to play a regular FPS, I won’t play Overwatch; I will play games like CSGO, but what made OW unique for me is that you can play a giant German Cyber-Knight or a DJ that can wall ride. I’m not saying heroes like Soldier can’t be good, but I always had the most fun playing heroes that felt odd or unique.

But ironically, when point&click were not the main parts of the game, there is no reason to use the first person PoV imo. The first person PoV is mainly used for immersion and the fun of aim. Immersion is for the singleplayer games, and the fun of aim is for the competitive games.

There are certainly some powerful projectle heroes, but many refuse to play them or play them poor for how easy they are to use.

Mei, Torb, and Pharah give me some of the easiest win rates in the game while Ashe, Cass, and Widow would do the opposite. Many of the projectile heroes have easy to abuse mechanics which give them value over vanilla hitscan.

Echo and Hanzo are actually very good projectile heroes.

It’s kinda why I got into the game after recommendations from my friends, and I came from fantasy games background.

I don’t play hitscan pretty much, I pretty much play heroes that are ability based or has some connections to fantasy theme. Like Rein being a crusader, Ram and Doomfist kinda like battle monk, Mei being a cryomancer, Sombra being a saboteur, Sym because I love her personality etc.

Will always be a tank or support player, or a DPS that only plays utilities heroes like Sym, Mei, Sombra.

Mei, sym, mercy, zarya… im sure theres others but ive made my point >.>
