The automated ban system is about to ruin my account

So in conclusion the case got solved. Thank you everyone that upvoted the post and got me in the front-page.

I don’t think the case would have been solved without this going in the front-page.

It would be a pretty big coincidence that in the same day this post got front-page, also everything got solved.

A shame I had to go Reddit front-page in order for this to get solved.

Once I logged into the game, I got 3 or 4 pop-ups that my communication “is not in line with how other overwatch plasters communicate”, even though I haven’t played for 2 weeks. So people kept reporting my mode while I was banned.

Oh, and for the guy that keep reporting me, good job, you almost had me.

After the post got front page, someone responded to my ticket. Of course they did.
So apparently the links were the problem as I expected in my ticket.

The thing is, I couldn’t find anything that prohibits links in custom games when I posted them and I cannot find anything now.

That’s why I even posted on the forums if it’s ok or not.

No one responded.

How I could know that they are not allowed, especially when there are a lot of game modes that have links as well, I though it’s ok.

Also, the links are still there, no one modified or removed them.

I’m pretty sure they said the links were the problem just not to get a bad image.

At the same time, they could also have a valid point.

If anyone can find anything anywhere that prohibits links in custom games, please let me know.

I opened a new ticket trying to continue the last one. I just want to see the rules where the links are now allowed.

The story starts in Jan 2024, when I started to receive emails that people are reporting my mode for “Inappropriate name poster”. Inappropriate name poster refers to the name of my mode, GUN GAME NO CD.

I received these emails for about 3 months, 1 or 2 per month. However, as you can see in the screenshot, no action has been taken.

Last month, I started to receive in-game notifications that my communication “is not in line with how most overwatch players communicate”.

I’m almost sure that I haven’t said anything that is not in line with Overwatch Code of Conduct, so on May 26 I opened a ticket to ask Blizzard what’s going on, why do I keep getting the pop-up, maybe give me a few examples of things I said that are “not in line with how most overwatch players communicate”. I barely talk btw.

On May 31 12:10 AM (my time), I got the usual automated response "This action has been taken in accordance with our Terms of Use… ".

On May 31 3:44 PM (my time), my account got suspended 30 days for “Inappropriate Content Poster”. Inappropriate Content Poster referring again to my mode, GUN GAME NO CD.

As you can see the in the screenshot, it says “we’ve modified PHCQ1 as a result.”.

NOTHING was modified. NOTHING.

So they didn’t changed anything but in the email they say they did. I’m pretty sure this is because the automated ban system is using the same email template as the one from an actual ban, given by an actual person.

I go immediately on the support ticket I opened previously (so I don’t have to wait another 3 days only to get the automated response) to ask them what’s going on, why exactly I got suspended, to tell me what’s the “Inappropriate Content” from my mode.

On Jun 6, one week from my ban, I got this copy pasta from Blizzard CS.

Even though I clearly said that my account got suspended, not locked, the guy didn’t even look at the state of my account or what I wrote.

I wrote back telling him that my account is not locked, and so on.

I’m still waiting for a response, after 8 days from my last response.

So, why do I think this is an automated ban triggered by some psycho?!

  1. All the “Inappropriate name poster” emails I got at the start of the year.
  2. All the pop-ups I got in-game before the ban. I’m pretty sure those “Inappropriate communication” pop-ups are because of the reports I got for “Inappropriate content poster” on my mode, similar to the ones I got on email for “Inappropriate name poster”.
  3. The fact that they didn’t changed anything about my mode, even though they said they did.

So I was unable to play the game for 14 days now. The email says that I’m a “Inappropriate Content Poster” and they modified my mode, which they didn’t. The support team is trying to buy time with useless copy pastas that have nothing to do with my problem.

A 30 day ban wouldn’t be the end of the world.

The problem is that I haven’t managed to make level 200 in this season BP, I think I have about level 190.

This is a problem because I got all the other battlepasses to level 200.

Not only that, but I play on this account from the launch of OW1. I got everything in OW1. All golden weapons, all skins, every single twitch drop, etc.

In OW2 the same, with the exception of shop skins (I’m not that crazy) and 2 Twitch drops which, btw, I haven’t got because of Blizzard. A weapon charm and a spray.

For the spray, they even acknowledged that there was a problem with the drop and they run a script to manually add the spray to everyone’s account, but for some reason it was not added to my account. They said they couldn’t do anything. But that’s a story for another time.

I really don’t know what else to say. I just wanted to let you know how a psycho can ruin your account.

I hope someone will unban me in the following days before Jun 20 so I can make level 200.

they cut staff and traded it for the automated system, it is what is. There have been a ton of complaints about this and they dont really care, they are not going to rehire a staff for this

If you see it to be inevitable that you are about to lose your account, then I would stop monetarily investing in it for sure. Don’t buy skins when you’re counting your days left!
