The armor changes hit a few heroes too hard

In general, I think that reducing shotgun/spray type damage against armor will be a good change. But this really hurts a few heroes far more than it should.

  1. Lifeweaver
    His damage will be reduced by 50% against amor under the new changes, and… he already kind of sucks hardcore right now. He’s numerically the worst support in the game, the DPS passive buff hits him like a train, and now seeing even less effectivity on his weapon? Just… really bad.

  2. Ball
    He doesn’t have enough armor to really benefit that much from the changes, but his weapons going down to 50% against tanks when his guns are already among the weakest in the entire role is a tough pill to swallow. They’re already buffing him a bit upcoming, but considering he’s currently the worst tank in the game by quite a bit, I’m not sure how he’ll play out.

  3. Rammatra
    Rammatra’s primary weapon will now also deal 50% damage against armor. He’s not in as bad of shape, since his pummel will see gains from this and his nemesis form has a lot of armor, but… man is his primary going to feel wimpy against tanks, dealing a piddly 62.5 dps max against armor. He’s also pretty bad at the moment in terms of numbers.

  4. Junker Queen
    Her primary weapon will be dealing 50% reduced damage to armor, and this really bites for her since she has no armor herself and since her narrow-shot shotgun is actually really good at headshotting, meaning the headshot reduction will serve as a double whammy. She also has one of the smallest head hitboxes for a tank, so she benefits less from the reduction personally. They said they’re buffing her shout, but her damage might end up on the weak side because of this.

All those tanks were already not really good at killing the enemy tank, and generally should be focusing on other targets. And who care about lw dmg into tanks.

Tho I still think this armor change is dumb in general. The old system was worse.

Weaver’s damage is wide enough that it’s hard to hit anything but a tank with all of it. He’s actually one of the best supports at damaging tanks (or he used to be, sadface).

Queen 100% brawls with other tanks a lot, and is one of the best heroes in the game for it. Rammatra uses a lot of ranged-spam at enemy tanks too to build ult charge in base form. Ball doesn’t hit tanks as much, but pretending it’s not a pretty major nerf to his damage in a lot of situations is kind of silly.

Supports shouldn’t be busting tanks in the first place.

If he doesn’t have much armor in the first place, the change doesn’t do a ton for his survivability. At least until you realize his biggest counters are heavily affected by the armor change. He’s not supposed to be shooting tanks, and only like three non-tanks have armor, so his gun is going to be fine.

Sure, his pebble storm will be weaker. But his punches are going to hit a lot harder against armor, which is a net positive. Add in the fact that he can have a huge effective armor pool while also being able to get 75% damage reduction, he’ll be more than fine.

She’s gaining a lot of survivability between the headshot resistance and the shout buffs, she could stand to lose a little damage against armor.
