The amount of time to reach level 200 is ridiculous!

I’ve played everyday of this season and haven’t missed a day doing daily and weekly challenges and I’m still not at level 200 which is utterly insane. I calculated that it will take 35.5 hours playing the game non stop excluding the time waiting in queue (I always queue for all roles) to level up from level 175 (which I’m at the moment) to level 200.
For someone who also play Fortnite occasionally, they are better in every single front when it comes to monetization and time spent to get cosmetics. Fortnites most premium skins goes for $7-9 compared to OW2 $19. Fortnites BP are a one time buy compared to OW2 that you need to renew every season if you want the skins. Fortnite gets constantly updated compared to OW2 where it feels even slower than before.

It’s really sad to see the downgrade from a much more generous and better monetization system in OW1 to OW1.5. Outside of the huge montization issues and the ways to earn cosmetics, the game is fun to play and it’s really sad to see how the game has become and the big issues with the game makes me who have played since the start of OW1 start to lose interest in the game sadly.

OW2 can’t even make it easier to grind the BP when there’s not as much time left. Again, in Fortnite you can level up to 200 within just a week at the end of the season since they add new quests all the time so that people who haven’t had time finish the BP can do so. They also don’t lock abilities in the game!
Heroes shouldn’t be locked behind pay and grind walls in a competative game!

I haven’t played on my main in more than a month and stopped caring about doing my full weeklies/dailies around week 3-4 and Im at lvl 105 or so (just between the 3rd and 4th title I think idk what tier that is)

I put in only a few hours every week because I go to college and have only so much free time on my hands. Playing the things I want to for fun and not really grinding weeklies completely, since that would make me burnout. Since S1 started on Oct 4 (7 because that’s when servers actually functioned), I have only just hit around level 60. I am actually sickened by the idea of some folk hitting 300.

People hitting level 300 are OWL players but for normal folks like you and me that’s not possible since we have limited time

I have a fulltime job, take care of my grandma, help support my family, I reached level 300 :joy:

How many hours per day do you play and do you have any tips on earning xp faster after you’ve done your challenges? I’ve been forced to play unranked most of the time since I don’t have time to play for multiple hours every single day. Are there any arcade modes that can make you earn xp faster?

I don’t play everyday, but when I do get to play it can be 4+ hours of playtime. I focus mostly on the weekly and seasonal challenges, then spam unranked when I’m not in the mood to try hard.

I mean, really, there’s content that you can earn for free by putting in the time which benefits the community by having players to play with. If you don’t have the time, you have the option to pitch in $10 towards the game and get it halved. And if you still don’t have the time, they’re just cosmetcis that you don’t need…

that and 200 is just a cyberdemon nameplate. It’s exclusivity is tied to pushing out level 200 double what is needed for the base rewards.

I’m not going to hit level 200. I’m at level 193. I’ll probably get to 195 by the end of the season. So close, yet so far.

It’s fine. It’s literally just a title that I was never going to use anyway.

I don’t think I even hit level 20 before I got bored and uninstalled. I dunno how some of y’all are playing this terrible game long enough to hit level 200.

That’s the beauty of games. If you don’t like it then uninstall, if you do like it then you keep playing. I never found it boring once this season.

I reached level 225 so far.

Level 1-80 = 3-4 hours everyday, only OQ QP because no queue times and fast matches. Took me 3 weeks.

Level 81-225 = 2 hours per day since Oct 28, almost everyday, same modes.

I never do the arcade or all roles challenges because F those modes, and I doubt I get the team kills challenge done every week, but I always play in a group for the extra 20% xp and already had the 20% premium xp.

Basically, group up, play modes with no queue times and quick matches so you can bang out more matches per hour. Spending 20 minutes + 10 minutes in queue per match in ranked modes only gets you ~1500 xp. In the same amount of time in OQ QP, you can earn ~3k xp.

Lol. Other than the issues I mentioned in the post, I think it’s still fun to play but I’m also losing interest since I don’t have any hype for the game. Fortnite are more constantly updating the game making it fresh and there’s multiple ways to earn cosmetics even if you have only paid 10 dollars for the 1 buy BP. Fortnite for me are right now much more fun which is sad since I really liked OW1 in many regards that are missing from OW2.

It’s only hard if you never play support. I only played support and got it maybe a month ago easily?

Thanks for the detailed answer. That’s quite a lot of time spending. The play with friends tip is really good and I knew it but I haven’t met a single person that play OW lol and the people I add that I’ve played with some matches play the game very rarely so that’s not an option for me either. I never earn 3k xp in unranked and I earn between 1k to 1.5k.

Just barely got it tonight.

I play support 99% of the time

Allowing players the ability to gain XP faster toward the end of a season is simply good business. This would only assist in selling the BP throughout the season instead of only at its first few days.

Blizzard is sadly going all in here. They’ve come to the price of ~$20 per skin based upon what whatever metrics they do have show them. Players are in fact buying these skins despite that it’s under the delusion that these are fair prices. These are not fair prices. For the price of around $30 I was able to buy Overwatch and collect most skins for every hero. Now that’s changed based upon the justification that this being a “live service”. It’s obviously ridiculous and to such an extent that even veterans and players absolutely in love with Overwatch can hardly justify it to themselves to make these purchases – me included.

I already own many wonderful skins and only had to make a small one time purchase. I will never purchase a skin for $20 and nor should anyone else. Out of principal have enough respect for yourself and the money you’ve earned to realize this is a bad deal.

I totally agree with you. At least Fortnite updates the game with fun events, abilities and modes so giving them $4-9 for a skin sometimes if it’s something I really like that’s outside of their 1 time buy BP feels more justifiable since people always have a way to earn cosmetics without needing to spend hundreths of dollars.
For Ovewatch 1 I paid $60 since I played the game when it came out and at the 1200 hour mark of playing the game I had pretty much every single skin in the game.
I do see people sometimes with the new skins in the game but I don’t think they are earning that much from when there’s so many people complaining and a huge majority of the audience are OW1 players.
