I’ve been a Symmetra one trick for a while now and I just can’t take the abuse anymore, I have to mute voice chat, team chat, and general chat to avoid it. The things people say to me are just horrible. Blizzard needs to do something about this and ban the people abusing one tricks and not the one tricks themselves.

Serious question. Why do you one trick? There are so many fun characters why not learn more until symetra is in a better place so we can all have fun? One tricking is not really what the game is about.

Most players don’t want to play the game with players like you, at all.
Yet for some reason we don’t have a selection of team building tools so the player base is getting rather peeved and lashing out. I don’t really think player abuse in game is ok but at some point you have to know you are part of the problem too.
If a player buys a team base game and NO ONE wants that player on the team game after game maybe, just maybe you are playing a part in them not wanting you on the team. Just because you can one trick SYM and force your way into teams with her doens’t mean the teams have to like it.

Flex player here. I had a Sym one-trick in my comp game today. Played it on attack, never joined team chat, never switched off when it wasn’t working. People don’t like one-tricks because they aren’t flexible. They aren’t team players. Being a Sym one-trick is even worse because her usefulness is extremely situational. I have no problem with people playing weird picks, but when they don’t work, do your team a favor and switch to what you need. Overwatch is a team game. Learn to flex.
Having said that, you shouldn’t be verbally abused for it.
Edit: I can admit when I’m partially wrong. Apparently what I thought the “poor teamwork” option in the report menu meant was wrong. It’s actually just a vague combination of “griefing” and “abusive chat”. Very confusing Blizzard. Luckily I’ve only use this option a select few times with selfish players and one-tricks that have refused to work/communicate with the team.
People are making accusations that because I reported a Sym one-trick who displayed poor teamwork under the apparently false “poor teamwork” option, that I use this to report any people playing characters I don’t like. Trust me, as a Sombra main, I’m not going around reporting every off-meta hero I see. Hell, I have it recorded on stream that I stood up for a Hanzo player when my toxic teammate was trying to get him to switch at the start of a game. For the people I did unknowingly falsely report, I’m sorry. I wasn’t trying to abuse the system.

I have watched Sym one trick streams so I know what you are saying is true, but the funny thing is that after the non stop stream of toxicity forces you to mute chat… they will them blame YOU for leaving chat. Such is the way of the world.

He plays sym because he has fun with her for the same reason you see 1 Trick Genji’s/ Tracers/ McCrees/ Soldiers/ Dvas…etc.
He plays the character exclusively because he loves the character. It is YOUR OPINION that he’d have more fun playing other characters. Stop usurping your opinions on others.

It’s almost like by intentionally not working with your team people don’t like you. Maybe, just maybe, you should consider playing to win? Doesn’t really matter though, you’ll get banned eventually.

If you are going to 1 trick, at least do someone useful, sym is a f-tier pick in my opinion. But One-tricking is dumb be useful be a team player, communicate.

If someone can take Torb/ Symmetra / Hanzo / Mei or any other f tier characters to GM/ TOP 500 and etc…than they are useful.
If the character is not useful…than does that make you useless as well being that they are in the same “rank” as you? If they are useless…why aren’t you lightyears ahead in rank…? Shouldn’t all the useless players be beneath you in rank because you are “useful” and they are not?

I did not say he would have more fun on other characters I said other characters are fun also so why not try them? I know other people 1 trick but I don’t think anyone should.
This is a multiplayer team game so working together is part of it and if all you do is play one hero that is not helping then it makes it not fun for everyone. It is not my opinion this is a team oriented game that is a fact.
