The 6v6 trial will fail if they dont revert tank reworks

6v6 will immediately be complete cancer if all the insane reworks stay.

  • Orisa unkillable CC spammer
  • Doom giga annoying CC spammer jumping around with 80% DR
  • Hog but with more CC and more healing
  • Rein powercreeped x10
  • Winston powercreeped x10

And to make the game more fun again, they should also revert all these dumb pointless reworks currently in the game:

  • S9 hitbox and health changes
  • Sombra with more damage and less skill required
  • Mei boring wall bot
  • Torb is just half hanzo half reaper (turret giga nerfed)
  • Bastion random burst damage nade spammer, basically soldier 76 now
  • Cassidy flashbang hinder is more awful to play againts than old stun
  • Brig is a boring heal spammer

And thats just the tip of the iceberg of the changes they’d have to do with 6v6. There is no way the 6v6 trial is going to be good. They wont put any effort into it because they want the trial to fail so they dont have to admit they were wrong.

What’s the issue with Brig?

She is strong and boring. They need to make her a utlity support again and tune her so she can have her stun back.

hmm, let me understand your logic:

  • the community first: “Devs, you are cowards, you don’t mention 6v6 anymore because you are afraid of the comparison” :triumph:
  • devs after almost literally years from the 6v6 topic: we decided to take it back into consideration
  • the community like you: "no, liars, you won’t actually try". :unamused:

maaaybe you should just admit that you’re not going to like this game anymore no matter what they do, since you’re obviously already complaining before you’ve even seen anything.

With Marvel Rivals right around the corner? That isn’t a good decision.

And besides, the devs already have almost everything they need for 6v6 from OW1. It is almost impossible for them to mess up.

Tanks will have to be reworked for 6v6 reguardless, just like they were reworked to make them “fit” into 5v5. You didn’t think they were gonna leave them as giga-tanks and just have two of them on each side of the field did you?

Never in my life have I seen some so slyly try to make powerblock sound like a good ability LMAO

it’s not exact: many people think that the simplification of 5v5 is simply “2 less player slots” but in reality we are talking about an adaptation to the stability of the system that has been recalibrated from the skeleton of the game code. When they talked about “technical difficulties” in the last devs post it means reworking the skeleton of the game after they had “re-welded” it with 5v5. to give a very simplistic example: it’s like when you break an entire bathroom to change the layout of the pipes, on how they pass inside the walls. modifying the game to 6v6 implies again “breaking the wall to change the pipes”.

let’s be clear that this is exactly the mistake that developers have made today: not “preserving” in some way that old infrastructure, even just for an arcade mode. and here the fault is the excessive conceit of what they believed was best for the enjoyment of the players, although no one denies the positive aspects of 5v5 on queues. they need to partially restore that system, even just for the test and considering the performance of the nintendo switch that is already at its best with all the new features introduced in OW2 (ping system included).

in any case, the goal of the attempts is not to prove that “6v6 is better”, but rather to find a balance to the preferences of the players (yes, there are people who love 5v5. no point in covering your eyes on this fact). IF they found a way to make it viable as a comp alternative (maybe even replacing the open queue that is very unbalanced) or even just as an arcade / unranked choice, it would still be a better victory than “we deny it to you completely because we developers know you don’t like it” as it has been so far.

I am calling it now: they will just nerf the hp of the tanks and call it a day.
Oh, and rein will once again have it better than any other tank as usual.

All the stuff you listed can be considered as problems in 5v5 too, so I don’t see how a 6v6 trial would be any worse than the 5v5 garbage we have already.

Raid Boss Tanks are already an issue in 5v5, so that in particular would be worse in 6v6 if they don’t actually nerf some numbers down.

They’re going to put in the absolute bare minimum of effort and it will fail, because they don’t want it to succeed. If it succeeded, that would mean they’d need to put in the effort to implement another mode, and they obviously don’t want to do that.

The tanks are going to be way too strong, some of the tank reworks will NOT work in a 2 tank format and be incredibly oppressive, or it’s possible they won’t even do 2 tanks and instead will do 1-3-2 and it will fail miserably.

Brig is kind of the only things that kept dive in check in 6v6.

Which isn’t something that is needed these days in 5v5 specifically, because you can more easily counter specific heroes in a given comp then you could in 6v6.

The weaker she is, the easier it is for d.va/winston/ball/ and more with help from widow/genji/tracer/venture/sombra and zen/mercy/ana to just delete your back line.

And then cycle back into your team.

You sit in the back, whipshot when something gets close, pack when someone is at half health, repeat. Boring.

I used to somewhat enjoy brig, I just find her soooooooo boring to play now. Her kit just doesn’t feel like it flows anymore - you are HARD punished for engaging enemies with your m1 or shield bashing them. I don’t think any other charatcer in this game is this decentivised from using close to half their kit. Shield bash used to be exciting, now it’s just a way to create a tiny bit of space between you and an enemy.

And it’s sad that she’s still viable while doing that?

Also, the reliability of her shield is incredibly frustrating. The amount of times i’ve died to a pulse bomb on the ground in front of me, been hooked, hit by a shatter etc etc etc while my shield has been up is ridiculous. She still has all the same problems with her shield that were present on her release.

I was mostly thinking about values and cooldowns, tbh.

more like:

Devs: We hate you, so we will make a mockery out of 6v6 after 2 years of waiting

They will mess up because they wont even try.

Just watch them botch the entire thing.

Its just bad design, just like Ramattra’s block

Why are you making random insane stuff up to try and defend the devs?

The “technical difficulties” is literally just lack of optimization.

How is it wrong for the community to feel like this, when they did exactly the same with pve? They purposely put the bare minimum development time into making the invasion missions, making them worse than the archives, just so they could say “the missions were unpopular so we won’t work on them.” Not to mention that the decision to cancel all pve was almost definitely made before anything was even released, and they just forgot to tell us.

Sorry but if you’re not skeptical that blizzard won’t deliberately make 0 effort with the 6v6 trial, just so they can push Thier narrative that 5v5 is better, you’re just naive. Imo. Welcome to the world of big corpa.

yeah, its pretty obvious they have to revert alot of the changes, but the tank reworks can stay

We will NOT get just a 6v6 trial and rather a 6v6 trial 2.0. They already mentioned, that they have learned a lot in the past and that reverting OW to just 6v6 would not be the solution and rather some bigger changes that would come with 6v6.

But besides that:

Orisa would be more healthy in 6v6, hog has less damage, rein and winston are just tanky, because of the armror changes.

Good for the game, because it allows people to be more consistent and gives the devs the options to break out of the 200 or 250 HP cage they have gotten themselves into for years.

I am always amazed how people come up with those kind of things lol

Yeah, because BRIG is a problem…

You are correct

And many 6v6ers haven’t seemed to notice this

The only possible way for 6v6 to be successful, is if they revert all of ow2 changes. That means the reworks, the heros, the maps… everything.

6v6 is not the savior this game thinks it is. I loved 6v6, but its not for ow2. I will say this everytime. I disagree with op, I don’t think they want 6v6 to fail. I believe that they do want this game to be fun, but they worked themselves into a corner.

All of the ow1 players want 6v6 back but with the changes from ow2, and all of the ow2 players want 5v5 as it is.

If you pick the 6v6, it will likely kill the game, as all of the new players from ow2 will leave, and a few of them will stay. Whereas all of the old ow1 players will return, try the game for about a week, then leave, because they already got over ow1.

That is my theory.
