That Genji 80's music is a bop

It only plays the first time you get that screen per session but I love it! Anyone else?

Yeah, it is very 80’s even though I don’t see what it has to do with the cyberpunk theme.

Maybe its the ā€œHow people in the 80’s thought the near future will look likeā€ theme

I really hate it, tbh. That Kiriko music is actually pretty good though.

I’m not really fond of the rap they used for Kiriko’s music. They should have gone with something that felt much more Japanese, like what you hear in 16th century Japan. Her whole thing is the mystic arts with a fox spirit as an ult, healing Ofuda, and kunai as throwing weapons. She feels like a mix of Shinto Priestess and Kunoichi. A bass-blasting rap song sounds like the antithesis of her design.

Why not give her a banging Kabuki tune like that Kabuki dude from Samurai Showdown? His old SNES tune was awesome! It jumped, it jammed, it was awesome! A jumpin’ Kabuki sounding theme for her like that would be fire!

Genji’s intro… I kinda missed it… I am an 80’s baby, been playing video games as long as I can remember. And yeah, we had our idea of how we thought the future would look, and it looked really cool! The cyberpunk genre looked awesome, from wires exposed here and there, to the visual identifiers where the flesh ends and the cybernetic prosthetics begin, from the messy looking prosthetics of wires and cables, to the slick and clean armor-like prosthetics and attire, it all looked so bloody cool! Ghost in the Shell, Robocop, Akira, Cyber Cops, all AWESOME!

When I hear ā€œ80’s cyberpunkā€, I think of protagonists like Robocop, Bulletproof, Motoko Kusanagi, and more! We had some really cool stuff! The synthwave trend online though couldn’t match the creativity we had in the 80’s.

Listen to Phil Collin’s ā€œIn the air tonightā€, and you’ll get a real good vibe for 80’s music! Dude I miss the 1980’s! Being a kid in the 80’s, even before the age of 10, was just a joy! And we had HARD games back then! HARD games that made people have to memorize boss patterns and get GOOD at a game to be able to beat it, we got pampered with a LOT of casual-friendly save data points in action games often reserved for JRPGs… We got spoiled and it made us no longer afraid of consequences… Also, we used to get 3 lives in a game with no continues! If you were in the arcade, you had to put another quarter in the machine to get that continue!

I’m sorry, I digressed into a tangent of nostalgia… I must be getting old…

God I love it I log out the game and restart just to hear it
