Thank you, heroes. Let's talk about our next steps for Overwatch 2!

If you want people to buy the pass then add some of the currency in the rewards track like all games with a season pass do. It’s always good having some choice on the rewards at the end of the track.

The next steps are taking away half the content that was in OW1 but giving us a weapon charm & a skin? HURRAY BLIZZARD YOU ARE SO GENEROUS!

next steps?
!. bring back free loot box grind
2. bring back OW1 so we can play that if we would rather play 6v6
3. make events 3 weeks long again, not 2.

make doomfist a dps again, even with heavy nerfs please!

When your pay is trash, you get trash right Poytheon? Smart people don’t make an idiot’s mistakes.

Oh yeah, did you hear they got hit with another sexual assault lawsuit the other day?

It feels even worse given that Overwatch has been - for years - a great example of monetization in gaming. Yes, loot boxes in general aren’t great, but the fact that you constantly got boxes for playing, got currency from boxes for duplicates, and had a pretty high legendary drop rate in the boxes themselves meant that you were at least always getting some cool stuff, even without spending money. And I would often drop $20 during events to get a chance at picking up some of the skins (or, more often, getting the currency to get the skin I wanted; I probably drop ~$150 a year on the game).

Keeping up in any meaningful way is impossible now. Just getting the new skins for the three new characters is nearly $100 ($20 each for the legendaries, and $15 for the epics). With the in-game currency, it would take around four years to get these few cosmetics. I get that they want to make money, but they have completely disincentivized putting money into the game. Were each of those skin packs $5? I would have bought all six for $30. Instead I’m not getting a single one because the value isn’t there. I have a fixed concept in my mind of the value of an Overwatch Legendary skin (on average, around $3 or ~twelve hours of play), but now I’m not even going to bother going in to the shop.

If they added an extra place value to the weekly currency (300, 200, 100) that still wouldn’t be as rewarding as, say, playing in Fortnite, and would still be a grind (three to four weeks of completing weeklies to get on Legendary skin) but at least that would feel like there the player is working towards something. It seems like they want an environment where players can only buy things rather than earn them through play, but they’ve priced even their whales out of the game. It’s insane that a skin costs more than month of GamePass Ultimate. I imagine that when the Halloween event rolls around, getting the new skins there will cost more than buying Call of Duty MW2 and Gotham Knights - combined.

“Compensation” being double XP weekends and a free skin for everyone? I do not agree that someone who has had merged cross platform account issues, paid-for content issues, and persistent gameplay issues vs someone who is just picking up the game for first time who is getting the exact same things without experiencing any of the problems is compensating the people who had or are still issues at all.

“To help make up for any lost time, we’re planning to run several Double Match XP weekends” - Its good that its being done, but don’t paint this as compensation! A time restricted recompense does not make up to those of us who are still having to just sit and wait for what they should have had in the first place.

Listen to the people - Skins cost way too much, there is no way of viably gaining currency to afford things (we play to escape the inflation happening in the real world right now… we dont need it in a game too) and return the small aspects of life to the game that made it feel less like a machine and more like fun activity (bring back medals, bring back being on fire, bring back how you were doing compared to how you normally do)

How about, my sons are on day 12 of LC-208 and can’t play OW2 with me and the refuse to acknowledge that and address so I can play with my sons! Not only that but they are going on 2 weeks of premium currency lost due to this error, and the only sorry they post they’re going to give is a free skin and charm no one really wants and 2x Battlepass XP weekends which EVERYONE who has a battlepass already GIVES, WHY CAN’T I PLAY WITH MY FAMILY??

What should be done next is a hard look at the prices in the shop.

They’re simply outrageous.

A player would be more likely to spend 20 dollars on 3 or 4 skins, not 1. If people are buying 1 skin, how many of them are doing so without the battlepass 2k coin grant? When new events would come out, I would spend 20 bucks on crates because I knew that I had a good possibility of getting multiple skins (and always did)… With the current setup, I would never spend 20 dollars again. In fact, the only money that would be coming out of my pocket is just for the battlepass season.

I’m sure there are a lot of people who feel the same way… especially with the weekly coin grant giving a max of 60 coins. Players wouldn’t be able to purchase ONE skin from the shop for 8 months. That’s absolutely insane even by F2P standards.

Suggestion:
Give coin grants based on time played in a season.
Increase the weekly coin grants to be able to purchase a new skin in 2 months., not 8.
LOWER the cost of the skins across the board. 2k (20 bucks) is insane. It’s a digital object that more people would spend more on if it were vastly cheaper. You’re not selling a real world object that holds any actual value… so lower the cost. You’ll make more profit for sure.
Daily’s should have a coin grant for completing 10/11. If it’s 10, at least that’s 300 coins that people will have for playing every single day.

So it’s past 1100 PST and I ain’t getting double XP

I’m also not getting the double XP, or if I am there’s no indication of it.
Never mind, didn’t see the pinned post cause I looked under technical support, I did only get 5.5k for completing 2 dailies though so I’m still not sure.

smh. so many young minds indoctrinated and uneducated these days…

blizzard loves players like you that dont make them take responsibility for their mistakes

LOL if you say so. Show the super-advanced Communist state. I mean it has it’s flaws but so far no system yet seems able to compete from that perspective except possibly fascist ones.

Humorous to say the least considering I also am saying their prices are too high and they need to polish the game and communicate more. Just be sure to include that in your posts.

How about you do something about all the leavers? 6 leavers in 8 games is redic.

Damn bro not only was that days ago and I’ve seen you else where so you obviously weren’t banned.

But your argument is so freaking stupid here because it was Communist that gave us satallites thanks to the Sputnik.

Now, would you like me to remind you blu-rays exsisted in the 90s and were straight up blocked by courts for no reason other than it would kill DVDs before they could kick off proper?

Or how bout sugar companies making attack ads on fats, or oil industry history of assassination attempts on other oil companies for land ownership. Don’t even get me started with the banana republic

Maybe you want to defend the companies that got so bad the U.S government had to make monopolies illegal

The US actually had the capability but held back.

You are merely ignorant. Capitalism has its warts, and regulation of any system is needed, but to impugn it all it frankly been proven to be a bad position over time.

Sure businesses seek to control market, no surprise and that can result in things held back. OTOH, a disruptive pattern emerges from that as well.

Not only is that not true because both countries had the same “german” (seriously blizzard?) rocket information and shared half the development team. But you couldn’t even bother to defend the other crap.

I see still you are ignorant of the question. I don’t need to defend against your charges, the problem is the context overall proves otherwise.

Do some reading, the US internally was ready to launch, they held back to due to questions of international law. Many are not clear on this, but its understandable.

Capitalism is not perfect, but so far its the best there is.
