No,
I have played, after checking, 875 hours of Reinhardt from the release of the game. I played the original iteration, that wasn’t broken at all.
Then I played the Anniversary Patch in 2017 which for some unknown reason made the Hammer Swing register the 1st swing late. And I watched as Blizzard, who couldn’t give a damn about it, band-aid fix it by making his Hammer Swing go from 1 per second, to 1 per .9 seconds. Incidentally, it didn’t even fix the problem if your ping is over 50. Mine is 90 on average.
Then I lived through the “fix” to Charge. It was better for the Reinhardt player because it did more server checks for character placement. But it made Charge too reliable, so that had to go.
On top of all this, Blizzard had to “fix” Earthshatter…when it wasn’t even broken. Their “fix” made Earthshatter more prone to hit registry errors then before. “Spaghetti code” is how the all knowing Kaplan put it. Not to mention, it created a new zone at the end of Earthshatter that just didn’t hit anyone.
Charge was then reverted back to its previous state, except now the vacuum property was less pronounced. Great, fix Charge for people getting hit by it, but leave the bounce in even if the hit was square in the center of a character.
After all this, Blizzard nerfs all shields, because reasons, and buffs Reinhardt with extra Hammer Swing damage that wasn’t even needed.
The only good thing to come out of any of these changes was Steadfast. All tanks should have some protection against displacement, not just Reinhardt.
Buffing Earthshatter to do extra damage at crotch level was stupid. However, if you are going to buff it, make sure it _______ works.
Read the above lightweight.
The best part is, no one can even be bothered to watch the damn thing to see what I am talking about. Utter trash. That’s okay though, lets see what happens when they become MicroBlizz next year.
