I just want to make a post to thank Blizzard for removing toxicity when it’s reported. For example, last night I was playing tank, and I wasn’t doing too well, but I was in no way throwing or trying to lose.
Two players in my party were calling me the most useless tank, a few curse words I can’t repeat here and some other hateful language that I refused to respond to. I reported both of them for inappropriate communication, thinking nothing would probably happen to them.
Well I launched Overwatch a few moments ago and got two of the lovely messages “Thank you for reporting, we have taken action on that players account”. Unfortunately, I can’t confirm 100% but I’ve only reported these two players in the last week making it likely these two reports were the ones actioned.
If anyone is reading this, please know your reports DO matter and even if toxicity is not aimed at you, it’s our responsibility as a community to report it. Please don’t respond to those being toxic, they will likely continue harassing in chat, all you have to do is ignore them and report at the end of the match.
Once again, thank you for combating toxicity and I hope more is done to remove those players from our community.
