Tell me again how mm isn't broken and I'm the problem

I just played 10 of the best games of my life. won the last 9, some of the highest stats i’ve ever achieved, playing support, healing like a mad man. and still got downgraded in rank. This system is broken, and disincentivizes playing ranked, when you can go on a 9 game winstreak and still get downgraded. and yet, QP is a complete s*&tshow. Do you want us playing your game? Because it seems like you don’t want us playing your game.

What a broken system and they are on vacation having campaign thinking they did a great job getting 25-35 million players in the first weeks and patting themselves on the back for changing a match making system that already worked.

There are other factors in play when you play rank beyond winning and losing. It tries to measure your impact on the game. Damage boost for picks, speed boost your team to escape death, trans a genji blade, dying less, these are things that may help you go up in rank. I don’t think healing stats have much impact on your rank honestly since the higher your rank the less healing is done in general.

I was hard stuck in silver 1 (moira/ana) for a long while in S1 then I played mercy more to damage boost and was more selective with my rez so the team can win losing fights. I was able to climb to plat2.

Sometimes your team just don’t give you window to damage boost them because they get hit so freakin often. I would suggest to get a stack and train.

“some of the highest stats I’ve ever achieved”

I’m aware of this. But I keep getting told “you’re the reason you don’t progress.”

The common factor here is that no matter what I do, someone has a reason why I’m looking at it wrong. I win, well I didn’t win well enough. I do great stats that outshine everyone else on both teams, well, I didn’t win enough games. so which is it? becasue I didn’t have any of these problems in OW1. When I won I went up, when I lost I went down. Now suddenly, there are so many factors, that no one knows what the true answer is, except Blizzard. And they hid our actual rank behind an unseeable MMR, and provide us a fake rank with decay, that means nothing, to force grinding.

it wont stop

and if it is true that healing stats don’t do much to “affect your rank,” then what in the absolute f&*% is the point of support? seriously, if i output 9k damage and 22k healing, with 24 e’s and 5 deaths, and I don’t get credit for the 22k heals,. that is an utterly broken system that explains the “dps moira” problem.

I empathize man, because to be honest we all aren’t entirely sure how the rank system works. All I can say is that in my own games I only ranked up when I started to consider my value to the team and the fight.

Regarding the healing here is an example that happened in my own game. It was OT on busan, my team and enemy team were both 2 down 1 support 1 dps. I pop valk and healed crit tank until half health then damage boost the rest of the team. Other mercy players could try to heal through the damage but I choose to damage boost the team so that they can secure the team fight. The enemy team didn’t have a mercy and they lost because of the 30% damage boost I provided. I don’t know if that was the right decision but I feel support is less about healing (but of course its also important) but enabling your team to win.

The game doesn’t reward skill, only stat boosting.

Um. You get a rank upgrade at 7 wins. So, I don’t know how you pulled it off at 9. And so, forgive me if I don’t exactly believe you just had 9 AMAZING GAMES BEST GAMES EVER! and still dropped rank.

But yeah, mostly this. If you win 9 games in a row, and had very little impact, the system is not going to reward you as much. I ACTUALLY do perform really well in all of my games. I lost more than I won last series, and still ranked up. So, yeah, it sounds like a you problem.

Rigged garbage designed to make it so you can’t earn challenges.

wow, just wow. your idiocy leaves me so speechless, this is all the response you’re gonna get to your brain dead comment. read words instead of being a Blizzard Simp troll.

The tragic thing is, that in the original MMR system (for chess, golf and other single-player games) ONLY wins count - as they should IMO.
Who cares what your stats are if you can win games?

Examples:
I am a Tracer main, and I have often won a fight for my team without having much to show for stats-wise. How?
For example on a 2CP map like Hanamura I would go to the enemy backline and pepper a support there, usually without even being particularly threatening. Then the off-tank (it was OW1 with 2 tanks) would turn around and chase me, often with one of the healers, sometimes even three enemies would chase me, reducing the fight on the frontline to a 5v4 or a 5v3.
I would often tab to look at my stats after a fight like that, and see that I had maybe 120 damage (like nothing) because I did nothing but dodge and run away from the chasers.
How is the MM going to avaluate that performance-wise?

Also, how about communication? What if you make good callouts? What if you direct your team well, to a degree where you win games on it?

And that is only two examples. There are plenty of actions that can be taken on many heroes that have value but are not measurable.

Nothing but wins should count. It is not up to anyone to define how the players are supposed to play.
