Teleporter mechanic change / buffs

I don’t think this is all Sym needs in total, but I think these changes to the TP would improve the hero nicely.

TELEPORTER

  • Cast time reduced from 2s to 1.75s
  • When Symmetra destroys her own teleporter, the cooldown begins immediately. The teleporter lingers for 3 seconds however, displaying audio and visual clues to her teammates indicating its impending doom. (The enemy can still destroy the TP during this window.)

What does this achieve?

  • Downtime from 10s to 7s if we destroy our own TP
  • More reliable for the team and for Sym. Right now you can kind of “yoink” the TP right from an ally which is actually a fairly common occurence since we have to destroy it so frequently for recovering the cooldown.
  • A faster activation time makes it slightly more realistic for some teammates to escape a grav, and also contributes to Sym’s personal survival and mobility, thus enabling some more reactive use of the ability.

Bonus: We literally have the TP expiry sound effect already from pre-infinite days.

I’d be still concerned about the experienced downtime tbh. like it’s still a a decent chunk of forced waiting :\

The character needs something right now so we could try this.

My worry is she’ll need a rework to be viable. The devs have made it more than obvious they don’t want Sym viable in her current state

Maybe but that would be a ways out. They could at least try this, maybe look at her primary and turrets etc

I hope that the character becomes viable at some point. This might not do that much but it would be a nice quality of life change for her.
