I don’t think this is all Sym needs in total, but I think these changes to the TP would improve the hero nicely.
TELEPORTER
- Cast time reduced from 2s to 1.75s
- When Symmetra destroys her own teleporter, the cooldown begins immediately. The teleporter lingers for 3 seconds however, displaying audio and visual clues to her teammates indicating its impending doom. (The enemy can still destroy the TP during this window.)
What does this achieve?
- Downtime from 10s to 7s if we destroy our own TP
- More reliable for the team and for Sym. Right now you can kind of “yoink” the TP right from an ally which is actually a fairly common occurence since we have to destroy it so frequently for recovering the cooldown.
- A faster activation time makes it slightly more realistic for some teammates to escape a grav, and also contributes to Sym’s personal survival and mobility, thus enabling some more reactive use of the ability.
Bonus: We literally have the TP expiry sound effect already from pre-infinite days.
