It will run in handheld mode. They have some gyroscopic control options for the Switch in handheld mode.
Typically, Switch games run at 60 fps on a TV and 30 fps in handheld mode. I don’t know if it is accurate or not, but the only source I could find said it was locked to 30 fps in both modes, 900p on TV and 720p on handheld mode.
Update: I found a second source that confirms 30 fps, 900p docked / 720 p handheld. This one cites a Tweet from a Blizzard employee as their source.
