What do you do in a situation like this, especially if you are stuck playing Tank? I can’t solo kill the enemy Tank, but my DPS refuse to even look in the Tank’s direction.
It depends on the situation (like Mei walls him off) and on the Tank, but in most situations you don’t want to shoot at the Tank, because it doesn’t do too much, especially with healing numbers that high. You should rather focus down squish is if possible.
But that doesn’t mean you should never shoot at the Tank look for opportunities when he’s vulnerable like if Ana naded him
This is the result of dps players being constantly gaslit for shooting tanks instead of squishies.
Now dps only focus squishies and if they suck, they just hit nothing.
I’m not sure who needs to hear this but if your whole team focuses the tank properly, no amount of healing can keep them alive. It’s okay to shoot the tank as well. It’s good pressure.
Your DPS is supposed to be focusing the supports. Not brag about artificial damage numbers from shooting the pocketed tank. Not making another QQ thread on supports. They are supposed to enable you to keep pushing in.
Once supports are down, there is no sustain left to keep them up.
First, I thank the Kaplan above that my team wants to shoot the enemy Supports that are keeping the Tank alive for once.
Not only is this not true especially if they have Orisa, you can kill three squishies in the same time it takes to kill a tank being healed. It’s a dumb way to play the game, and an autolose if your own tank is not a frontline maintank and you try this nonsense anyways.
Maybe they’re trying to kill one of the enemy supports first? Sometimes it’s not even worth trying to kill the tank until at least one of the supports is down.
I get understanding why you should shoot squishies before tanks but if you’re bad at aiming or dpsing in general, tank should be a priority for you since it’s an ult battery… right?
Soldier can get his ult super gosh dang quick vs a roadhog, then you can be good at aiming for 6 seconds.
It’s all situational tho I assume… obv if there’s a mercy in sight I’m gunna do my best to point and click her.
If this story were true then Orisa would only ever die if a support died first and that is not the case. If a support is even mildly distracted you can blast the enemy tank in a couple seconds, especially considering the dps output of supports as well. The support doesn’t have to die first. It’s ideal but not a neccesity.
Symm, bastion, Zen, Anna and Zarya can delete a pocketed fortified Orisa in the blink of an eye.
Your comp, the enemy comp and the map also heavily impacts how easily you are going to be able to target supports.
It’s not at all as cut and dry as you say it is.
Is there a code for the said game so we can review the situation at least? we don’t know any of the context or what is happening in this game other than “they didn’t shoot tank”
Also the main priority should be taking down the supports first, there is no use trying to kill the tank if you’re not going to secure the kill, that will just feed the supports.
If your dps are that bad that they can only hit a tank, I promise you the enemy dps are going to kill you guys before you burn that tank down.
That’s why the usual play is either isolate someone and focus them, or go for the supports because you will not break through the sustain in time before you lose to attrition.
If my team ignores the tank, I might go Dva and dive whoever they’re diving
You’d be surprised how by how bad players can be, even in Diamond games.
Not really. They’re in Masters too.
Exactly. It’s not hard to believe that potato players exist in most ranks. It is what it is.
I think the exact term is “free to play”
Start following the damage players around, to be honest. I’m either giving away their position all the time, which forces them to fight, or maybe there’s less stuff going on near the objective than I’d realized (thin out the enemy numbers then work toward the objective).
Either way, it’s kinda fun to freak them out with those loud, tanky footsteps.
I walk past the enemy tank, and kill the supports. Once at least one of the supports are dead, the tank becomes killable.
The whole deal with tanks is they have a bunch of defensive options to improve their survivability, which generally makes them unkillable if they’re getting any help from supports. So kill the supports.
You are supposed to be making a beeline for the enemy support and ruining their whole day.
Oh the irony
