I think the easiest trick is to stick it at 0 distance. You need to know the exact range of your blinks, and blink literally into your target to instantly stick it. I don’t play Tracer at all so I might be wrong, but I think that’s the basis
Go into a custom game with a bunch bots (ana is good for the small hitbox and weird movement) to practice. Every time try to hit Q and then blink really quickly, not the other way around. If you’re at the right distance and you time it properly you’ll get pretty consistent at the instant sticky. It also helps to aim down a bit I’ve heard but that never really helped me.
Pulsebomb is one of the most inconsistent projectiles and even professionals whiff most of them.
Throw pulsebomb then blink. It gives the squishies less time to react from hearing the blink.
Easy way to practice: Go to custom game with bots set to Hard. Turn off their ability to Primary fire and all other abilities. Crank your ult generation up to 500%. Literally just practice using Q-blink-stick until you get a decent feel for it.
After that it’s just learning to predict where your opponent is going to go so you don’t whiff the blink as often. That just comes down to observing how people move and react to things.
first know exactly how much distance ur blink does, then 2 blinks then 3 blinks, this way you can blink in from some distance and land it, second learn to pulse bomb just before blinking. third…whiff all day long until you get it right …practice practice practice. remember the hardest target to hit is one facing away from you since they arent actively trying to avoid u, u cant predict movement/
It just takes practice, but you’ll get used to it. If you’re looking for instructional videos for Tracer, I’d recommend Kabaji’s clips on Youtube. He’s an amazing T500 Tracer player and he gives fantastic advice.
Don’t try to get too fancy with it. For a while it may be easier for you to blink in and then throw the bomb when you get in close, get used to its projectile speed and arc. When you’re more comfortable, you’ll want to blink and then throw the bomb, often with a quick turn to match the enemy’s movement. A big part of landing PBs well is positioning and game sense, so it really is just a matter of practice, practice, practice. The more you play Tracer, the better you’ll get.
Firstly I want to say pulse bombs are meant to be hard.
But if you’re really struggling try and wait until the enemy jumps, that makes them extremely predictable for an easy stick or any other type of predictable movement.
Then you can move onto the blink+pulse etc
You just have to spend countless hours practicing, become 1 with the pulsebomb.
It’s rewarding when you get decent. Today Stuck a moira and she faded, that will not stand, waited till she used fade then stuck her again. Also stuck a juckrat as he was just about to ult, so satisfying.
As a Tracer main, I can fully tell you that it’s very hard to stick a pulse bomb on a high mobility character. The only reliable way that doesn’t take years of practice to stick someone like Genji or even another Tracer, is to catch them off guard from behind.
Honestly, the best way to get the most bang for your buck, (Pun intended) is to attach it to a leading tank like Rein or Orisa or even the payload of you’re defending. Tanks are the umbrella of the team, and when the dps characters and support characters crowd around their tank, you can save all three of Tracer’s blinks to sneak in from the side, plant the bomb in the center (ideally on the tank themselves) then get out of there before someone kills you, or before you blow up also. DON’T ATTACH IT ON A SHIELD
Doing so would NEGATE the bomb, which is why I said to go in from the sides or from behind. Make sure you time it right so that the most people are scrunched in the blast radius.
If you communicate with your team, you can tell them to flank and hers the enemies into each other so that you can get the maximum out of the bomb. It does work, but not every team is good at that kind of thing.
