Tanks/Heals feel OP in comparison to DPS

It’s utterly ridiculous that tanks and supports can do so much DPS on top of their role. They often do anywhere from 1.5 to 2.5 times the damage of the DPS.

As a dedicated role, this makes DPS feel weak and boring. It also makes for uninteresting 1v1 with tanks and healers. DPS frantically tries to stay alive while getting destroyed by something they either can’t damage, or can’t outheal as they get dps’ed nearly equally.

IMHO a Tank shouldn’t necessarily get smoked by a dps with no heals, but by the same token they shouldn’t be able to kill you in 2 non critical hits. It makes tanking feel OP, and DPS feel awful. Yeah, sometimes you pop off as DPS, but often you just get mauled and it becomes a tank battle or a heal-off.

A fix would be to nerf the dps of all tanks by about 20-33%. As far as the damage of dps it’s fine, it’s just that a tank that has half a brain will stomp you into the ground unless you are many times better than them.

I have never had a game worth discussing where the support did twice as much damage.

If a support is consistently out damaging dps by 1.5-2.5 times why does every support have lower damage per 10 minutes than every dps? That includes Zen and Lucio as well who don’t need to stop dpsing to heal

Hell nah. You want me to have to swing my hammer FOUR times to punish you for refusing to walk backwards? That ain’t it, b.

This can mean many things

  1. The dps are securing kills efficiently e.g. widow only doing 250 dmg per kill instead of dumping 600 damage to kill one person
  2. The dps are dropkick players and are getting hard carried by supports

If supports do good total damage, it means that someone is feeding them. They are not amazing if enemies play carefully and hold chokes and angles.
