Tanks that need nerfs

  1. Sigma- Jack of all trades. With a shield, defense matrix and CC poking at you. Sigma should have been reworked before Orisa. They were messing with getting rid of the shield for mobility, make it happen. There should be a rule that shield tanks shouldn’t have range.

  2. Wrecking Ball- This hero is a menace without CC, get rid of the shields regenerating it has pushed him over the top

  3. Rein- This hero has received buff after buff because of Flats crying. I’m a Rein fan but these buffs are too much.

Those 3 tanks hold the rest of the tank roster hostage, bring them down a bit. Tank balance was so close to perfect until those Rein/ Ball buffs. Sigma has always been a problem, but now after the other tank nerfs he’s showing up way more.

I don’t know about Sigma, but I don’t know how we could change him.
Ball’s counters need to be buffed more than he deserves nerfs. Sombra is pretty much a joke right now.
And I agree, Rein is over the top and inflated to the brim. I’m done seeing this guy in 80% of my games.

For me:

Sigma needs to receive a nerf on either his Rock dmg or Hyperspheres’ damage. Another suggestion would be a Grasp cd nerf. But I mostly think that his dmg is the issue.

For Wrecking Ball I don’t know… I don’t believe that he needs a nerf. The problem with Hammond is that people refuse to pick his counters. It was a lie that OW2 would not be a Counter-watch so, just pick his counter. If people want a nerf maybe … a small HP nerf?

For Rein I think he needs a small shield amount nerf and other than that he is fine.

I mean in that case than can we do a small buff to his er nerf? The man is slow already, I can’t see how nerfing his damage would do to him.

I think underperforming tanks need buffs more than these tanks need nerfs. Buff jq.

JunkerQueen is underrated if you land your bleeds. Rein, Sigma hold her hostage.

She doesn’t need buffs, other tanks need nerfs.

Oh ok. Let me just go widow real quick. Or pharah. Or bastion. Or junkrat. Or sojourn. Or soldier. Or ashe. Or cassidy. Or basically any hero that isn’t genji, reaper, or beams. The only heroes she’s good against. Anything else is basically a hard counter :rofl:

Top 500 America’s right now is largely Doomfist, Hammond, and Winston. Its pretty much a dive meta at the moment. Though some of the other tanks like Rama, Rein, Sigma, show up in rather good frequency. The balance overall to the upper ranks is pretty well balanced. Far from the 50% Zarya usage we had back in Season 1 for a single tank.

Changes to Rein/Sigma make no sense unless there is actually some better reason for it. The reasons here provided are really quite a poor argument.

Ball can make sense to possibly nerf, but he’s also not horribly overpowered either like we were in Season 1 Zarya having 50% pickrate of top 500.

Lol sigma is balanced, rein is balanced. Ball is the only tank that needs a nerf. Sorry guys but sigma is actually balanced

in my experience sigma players usually are too passive. i really hate when players pick him on payload defense. just presses w all the way till last stand lol

hammond i can agree with you since i never liked the little rodent but hey every hero deserves its time in the sun. maybe a slight nerf. they did seem to force him to be meta

rein i also agree with. even tho he isnt “dominating” gm ladders he is one of those heroes that if they force him to be good at the highest elos then he just wrecks the lower ones. every rank below gm i mean, he is so obnoxious. probably needs a rework to get his skill/ceiling/curve to be better. kind of like moira

so basically sigma and hammond are kind of cool in the fact in order to be the “best” at them you need a lot of training/hours. although maybe hammond can use a “slight” nerf but i usually dont have a problem with him at my elos

while rein is just so “easy” to get value out of :man_shrugging:

Much of it is Sigma’s team. Sigma is really weak vs many of the other tanks. His dmg is strongest into 200hp heroes because its a high burst esp with rcok, but its crap sustained dmg which is what you need for tanks. The dude only has ~70-80 DPS while he himself has no armor or high hp.

Reinhardt/Winston have almost more DPS because they can have shield, armor, higher hp pools, and dmg which cleaves through all of Sigma’s defenses. Similar tanks like Zarya just have higher DPS. Doomfist has shorter cooldowns and ignores shield pretty much.

Many times DPS players will pick tracer, genji, ashe, widow, and hanzo. Sigma to deal with tanks NEEDS DPS that will go something like Sojourn, S76, Cass, Bastion, Junkrat, etc. You don’t need both, but you need something with higher DPS to focus the tank /w Sigma to actually keep the other tank from pressing W into them. Sigma can keep squishes under control if he can land shots.

  1. I dont think Sigma needs a nerf, but a change more so. Either a) Turn him more into a defensive tank, like old orisa was, or b) turn him more into an offensive tank, like new orisa is, make his shield bigger and damage weaker, or make his shield worse and damage better.
  2. Absolutely, This is also because i just cant stand wrecking ball, its not that hes way too hard to kill but as a support player even when you play ana having your entire team halfway across narnia just makes him a nuisance 24/7
  3. Rein i dont think needs a nerf per say, i dont remember how hes been buffed either, i know theres a massive amount of new rein players specifically because on tiktok, its a trend on overwatch side of tiktok to play rein, and its gained a lot of momentum, like a lot of momentum

thats a good explanation. i dont want nerfs for any of these heroes to be honest because of two points

  1. i never play hammond or sigma, too lazy to learn them

  2. rein is my go to tank (him and d.va), even tho i HATE going agaisnt him, i do love playing him with the rare times i play tank. he is so fun but sometimes i wonder that even tho i have a high winrate with him… maybe its because hes so “easy” lol

Sigma is possibly the most balanced hero out of all the heroes in this game.

Ball is understandable.

Rein is ok.

Orisa and Ramattra on the other hand are too strong.

Only one I agree with is Wrecking Ball, really. All the other tanks seem just about right to me. Zarya’s still a little weak maybe.

How about, instead of asking for nerfs for every hero that even lightly counters yours, we nerf your objectively overtuned heroes that you enjoy playing?

That seems more ideal. :innocent:
