Even if you DO know more than me, there’s zero chance that I’m going to just trust that from someone who doesn’t have any credentials in a random pick up game.
Have you listened to many terrible things are uttered in voice? Like how many times people used to say “don’t Play Widow on attack”, or even now “Orisa is a terrible tank?”
If you are my coach or a smurf, then sure, I’ll heed what you say. But if you are just some random person at my ELO, why on earth would I listen to you? Why would you presume anyone would?
People ordering their peers around and not seeing anything wrong with that is one of the issues that makes this game so toxic.
i normally ask you nicely first and explaining why it’s not working, and i’m acutally waiting to see you appear more often in kill feed as dead. How many times someone dies early i don’t say anything, but if he dies 3 times in a row first, i will say something. So at the end, i’m not the one bossing you around, but if you keep ignoring me, i will start bossing you around i mean, i even say that we could need a specfic char instead of pharah in this example. The real problem this game is so toxic is that it’s so hardly dependend on Hero Picks. The counters are too strong too each others in a team game.
Why do you think that this is a problem exclusive to tank and support players? Literally any role you have people that don’t swap when they need to and you’re acting like tanks and supports are the only ones with this problem.
Honestly, the first time anyone tells me what to do, I just leave voice. It’s a distraction that causes me to play worse if I have to defend what I’m doing. And I’d rather people focus on their own mistakes than try to suss out mine.
Sometimes I’ll just do whatever I’m told. In that case I’ve already given up, and so why not?
I understand recognizing a deficiency in the team plan. You know, stuff like “we could use a main healer?” Or “we need a way to deal with that Reaper.” But stuff that specifically targets me as if you have any idea from observing me play for 5 minutes? Nah, I’m not having it. Because if you really were studying my play enough to know where my faults lie, then you seriously haven’t been paying attention to your own play. And there’s a good chance I’m well aware of my faults anyway.
Because I have hundreds of hours of knowing my own play and capabilities, and none of you can tell any of that from watching me play for 5 min.
Anyway, this is pretty academic. I rarely get criticized, but it drives me nuts when the team randomly decides some poor scapegoat is the problem and begs that person to change, and all the energy goes into that. I usually don’t agree with them, but rarely does a game go well after that happens. Because usually it’s a problem with the team, not an individual, but groupthink is powerful.

You haven’t been monitoring me well enough for long enough, so I’ll ignore what you have to say.
Oh, you have been monitoring me… you failed your own role then (even if the person is the absolute MVP)
By that logic, no one can ever point out, that someone is failing to fulfill his role and needs to adjust.
Analysts and coaches are able to see the game play from every players perspective and focus on tactics since they aren’t in the game moving and shooting, and they know what each player is capable of by watching that same player over multiple multiple multiple games. You, as a player in the match, do not have any of those advantages.
Well, yes. People should focus on themselves and not worry about the failings of others. The odds you are going to fix a bad player’s issues in the next 5 minutes are extremely low. And I dare say most issues are due to team synergy than one person playing badly.
Criticizing others in this game is a waste of time and energy.
But, usually when there IS someone to blame, you aren’t going to fix it in the next five minutes. So expending energy trying to fix that person is energy wasted you could be using trying to win instead.
I was down at 1200 in the early days. I’m solidly plat now, though I’ve dropped into silver trying to learn new hero’s a few times (it seems I’m a slow learner for learning new heros). I did hit low diamond during role queue beta.
i didnt say in game i espacally called that out you know I said that in this example no matter what he says, i’m higher skill, even the SR is the same .
I agree, support players swap only rarely and its making me crazy. So many times was my team wiped out by ults but oir moira+mercy are without clue why is that…
i hope so. I mean, Tracer always getting first picked in a fight, IS loosing us the match and throwing, you don’t need to be an analyst to know that. If i’m not allowed to say this, then leave voice and use your stupid report system. You as a player doesn’t always know better then others, thats just plain wrong. There are things that others see that you dont see: You play a dive char when we play bunker, you always go in first and die before the team is even close. Yes i have the right to speak to you in this situation. IF you mean to leave voice then, then you are basically throwing and i will report you for that, sadly Blizz doesn’t care about that. I always say it in a nice way first, but if there isn’t anything changing, I’m most of the time not alone telling this.
I explained it to the other guy: NOPE.
There are different skill sets, just if you have the aim, and i have game sense, but your aim brings you on to my skill rating, doesn’t mean we are on the same level See OWL coaches or analyst, none of them is higher then their players, still teaches them how to play the game.
