I definitely agree that between being a Reinhardt one trick and uninstalling the game… Uninstalling the game is the better option for everyone involved. That being said, when have I ever cared about what’s best for the majority? I am the type of person that would redirect the train with less people to safety just to spite the concept.
I feel like I’m in a really good spot with tanking right now, but also because of that, tanking seems kinda boring if I’m being honest?
For context, I’m an unranked Zarya one-trick.
So yeah, part of that is that Zarya has life pretty easy being able to cleanse a lot of the things that can make playing tank so aggravating.
At the same time, I’d like to think that with all the time I have on her, I’m also privy to which tank match ups I’m favored in, and which ones I should be more cautious with and not press my luck… so I don’t often find myself in situations where I’m dying over and over and going through the roulette of swapping to a new tank and hoping things improve.
I notice a lot of the tanks people use to counter me don’t do much, but again, it’s QP so I realize a lot of the tanks I’m facing are just filling the role and not necessarily trying their best. That’s my 2 cents.
Honestly everyone should uninstall it with how much of a baby the entire community has become. Everything is reportable because everything taken out of context can be offensive or “aGaiNSt THe CoC”.
They also lied about things they knew they weren’t gonna deliver.
No wonder it has an overwhelmingly negative and deserved review on steam.
Depends on the map, depends on the enemy composition
The thing is that your scenario is quite complicated to be honest
Those numbers… there’s too much dispersion.
Almost like a Jack of all trades.
That’s why I always tell people to play what they trully know
A player with 1000hours in a game like Overwatch is not really that much.
There are specialists and top500s with more than 4000 and 9000hs
And diversifying your picks so much, it really makes it hard to capitalize.
You need to commit to something at one time
Otherwise you are just swapping counters for the win, and hope that patch notes favor you
But if the enemy Tank actually knows what he is doing, specially against that Meh gameplay, this Jack is going to start walking out from respawn as if we were playing Mystery Heroes xD
If I have to choose for that Tank, I’ll say Winston
With 300 hours on Hammond, he won’t have knowledge about map, heal packs, target priorities, mechanics.
Maybe he has good aim, but it is most likely that he is going to spend the entire much just rolling around while enemy ignores him and pushes payload non stop
Winston has a better toolkit for his team.
All he needs to to is adjust is how much he can stay in the frontline before regrouping.
That will depend on enemy awareness and preasure when rejecting threats
I have TRIPLE those numbers across the multiple years where I’ve pretty much only played tank in the game.
I also coach.
Sooooo…jack of all trades? Yeah. Role specialist? Yes. My preffered style, dive.
I definitely know what I’m doing if I always seem to force my opponents to swap.
So your turn to answer now, that has been avoiding the entite reason for this question. “Who are you picking to play with my main pick: Ball, and why?” If I’m the tank and I’m already forcing swaps, do you know what that means for me and how you can provide aide there?
I can triple those numbers across my multiple accounts xD
But I don’t really know much about tanks
That’s key
Hammond’s gamestyle is somewhat similar to Sombra.
… the OW1 version; not this dumb iteration we have now.
He obviously is not a good tank for Opening.
His main task is to disrupt the enemy, but if anyone gets caught alone or out of position… bad luck for them
I would try to find a comp that can be dynamic enought for keeping enemy at distance, but also that represents a threat when contesting without having WB around
Split the comp in 2 groups basically
I would like Ana/Bap - Ashe/Cassidy as hitscans for keeping enemy at bay.
They are self sustainable, and they can also put preasure in the front.
And with the second group I’d go with Lucio - Junkrat/Venture.
They have CC, can easily disengage, put tons of preasure when enemy trying to walk in, and Lucio can both peel for any of the two groups
If the DPS and Supports understand and can coordinate this, Hammond can make sure no enemy gets out alive at low hp.
He should only focus on disrupting space, rythm, Line of Sight; and can also perform the same job as Lucio if any additional peeling is needed.
I’m thinking this specific strategy for Control maps alone
