After the last couple of changes to the game I decided to rank tanks by balancing, which means- not by strength in the game but rather by how balanced each tank is.
S- op tank (spoiler alert, no one is in that list currently)
A- is completely balanced.
B- is pretty good, not perfect balancing but close to it and can be meta because of that.
C- is not great… in it’s current situation is only useful in very specific situations.
F- Unplayable, requires the proper buffs and nerfs immediately.
X- requires a change… Doesn’t mean it’s not in any other rank but also is not currently fitting for being a tank in my personal opinion until they get that change (change means actuall change not just buffs and nerfs).

This is my tanking ranks, I would like to hear what is yours and why
I explained in the start, some characters can require changes while being good. Lets take Zarya for example- she’s great at enabling other heroes so she deserves a good spot. Thanks to her Reinhardt can use his hammer and fight up close and in exchange he protect her until they reach the point.
but in my personal view of the game at least- tanks job is protecting and making space. 1 bubble with 200 hp is a great offensive tool to make sure a hero can do it’s job up front but noting defensive to protect the team. Because of that I really liked the experimental change in 3-1-2 that let her have team bubbles in exchange for less damage and less energy from each bubble. makes her more consistent tank and less an enabler of 1 team team member
A good hammond can be an amazing engagement tank, better than D.va if the enemies don’t have cc or burst. You can stun the enemies in their place giving your divers opportunities and your high survive ability makes you extremely strong as a distraction.
Hammond requires a lot of practice but when played correctly he’s super good.
