Seriously, anyone willing to actually tank should be put up on a bit of a pedestal. The amount of abuse you have to go through is insane, you have no freedom of choice in your character, and a large portion of the tank players are just doing it because no one else will. If you are a tank main, or flex tank, THANK YOU!
What about support or damage heroes?
Damage hero’s? omegalul
I’m not going to thank the 4th DPS on my team for taking one for the team and picking Sym.
As a tank main thanks, but I mainly just enjoy playing some of the tanks (I usually instalock a tank before anyone chooses)
The thing is that I love the idea of tanking in theory. I’m not necessarily about getting kills, I just really enjoy getting into the enemy’s face and brawling with them. I love feeling tough and durable and controlling the fight while protecting allies. I was a huge fan of Muradin and Blaze in HotS because of this.
But I don’t feel tough and durable in Overwatch. I have a lot of HP, but it’s heavily offset by having a huge hurtbox and massive easily hit head.
Wrecking Ball is probably what I’m looking for, barreling into the enemy team and disrupting them, but I’m not a huge fan of his swinging mechanic. I’d prefer a simpler method of engagement like Winston’s leap. WB also books it when he takes too much pressure, and I definitely don’t want to do that. I’d much rather stand my ground and brawl it out until I die.
I play Zarya and Hog. I never ever ever main tank.
Thank you for creating an unexpected chuckle.
Support yes, damage heroes, a dime a dozen.
i am putting more and more playtime as Orisa in QP because no one tanks anymore.
I agree! Always happy to have a tank on the team~
Support heroes get quite a lot of love imo. I’m much more likely to hear “great healz” or “ily Mercy” than “Thx for tanking” or “Ily Rein” after a match.
As for damage heroes, its not like anyone has to beg and plead with people to play that role.
I appreciate the sentiment OP, but no need to thank me.
I tank because I like to.
I tank because of players like you.
What about them? They’re a dime a dozen.
For wrecking ball you have to dip out when things aren’t going in your favor or you risk feeding the enemy ult charge. His mobility is key, it gives you the choice to fight the enemy or run away, and basically only take the engagements where you have a better chance of winning than losing
No one says super heroine when they address Wonderman or Black canary. Personally, goddess strikes me as a dated alternative to the word god.
Not trying to rag at the post, just thinking out loud.
We exist, but a lot of us exist at the higher ranks where players understand and capitalize on “space taking” more.
No need to thank us, we enjoy the role.
Well, that answers my question about what people think about damage heroes/players.
I mean we already knew that no one likes dps mains.
I love a good dps main who understands “how” to play with my tanking. There is nothing better than a Genji player who dashes low health targets I just zapped as Winston. But there is nothing worse than a dps main who has no follow thru on the space and plays you make as a tank player. At that point… they are just there waiting for their ultimates to make a play, instead of before. Very frustrating.
Go ahead and like DPS. I love them, exactly 2, in every team I’m on.
As a tank main: Shut up
