Tanks not worth

Exist. As a tank you should sit behind a corner and wait for your 4 dps to get picks. Take space? Nope, your supports are with your dps taking angles and you have no help. Any way around that? Play a tank that doesnt need as much help from their team as other tanks (doom/wreckingball) and be greeted by a hog, cas, sombra, and brig with soft, warm, loving, open arms

Why do we think shifting power from the second tank to supports is anywhere close to a good idea? Kiri and bap (ik bap is from ow1 but hes just like all the other supports that can do it all for no reason) not only can duel any character in the game because of their damage out put, bap has great verticality, self heal burst, along with temporary invincibility that forces you to aim away from him. kiri has good verticality, a cleanse tp, and another cleanse. Without even considering their ults in the mix. for A good bap will win against an equally skilled soldier every time and thats not debatable. why encourage the supports to heal if they have more dps than everyone else. Just let them do their thing until they wipe the team so you (the tank) can finally help the team for the first time in the match by claiming the cleared obj.

At this point i dont think tanks should be in the game, lower their health and just give them the old dps defense role. Take so much power away from the op and braindead supports that get all the value with no risk whatsoever. Moira, illari, brig, bap, kiri, and 100% space ranger lmao.

I feel like its safe to say that most people still playing ow2 are just waiting for a new game thats worth investing time in. Were still here because every game thats come out in the last 2 years are interesting for 1 day. I hope marvel rivals is amazing so ow devs feel the disappointment when even diehard players see how little effort they put into a game that WAS the goat. Microsoft doesnt care about overwatch 2 and i dont blame them.

What will happen is the dpsbot support will let other teammates die, then said dpsbot will lose games because they aren’t healing their team. For each pick theymight get, its matched by a dead teammate, so they go nowhere. As you are noticing with the whole you aren’t able to aggress as tank much because of how the supports play.

The healbot support won’t win games because they aren’t contributing to kills. Its pretty consistent that the best supports are mixing dmg/heals in between. The bigger issue is the match maker in some games being extremely wide and there being smurfs in the game.

If you have a gold dps vs master bap, of course you’d expect the bap to win more often. Supports still have less total DPS than the DPS roster as a whole entirely because of their lack of dmg abilities and usual reliance upon losing dmg output on healing. The supports actually pulling off dmg on aim are pretty skillful because theya re generally getting those kills purely off aim and generally no additional killing or debuffing tool.

Its very rare to ever see a support get above like 3-5k dmg/10min in most games which are actually balanced games between the ranks.

Zen players with 6k average, bap players with 5k average, illari players with 6k average want to talk with you.

If you want to use a larger dataset, you can look into the dmg/10min on overbuff in the last month. It comes out to be that area of not really breaking out of the 5k dmg range.

That’s the higher end gameplay. Moira hits high numbers from a bunch of trash damage that’s super easy on orb and ult. Illari’s DPS rate is like 83dps, but pylon lets her actually focus the dmg. A decent chunk is from the ult usage. Zenyatta literally has nothing to do most of the time except shoot with like 150dps. Baptiste should have a high portion of dmg, but its very difficult to land the shoot/heal shoot/heal rhythm.

These ‘stronger’ DPS supports are barely matched with even the weakest of DPS. Its easily more of a difference when you look at the ~3k mid across supports vs the 8-9k avg across dps. Which is kind of my entire point.

When you have a bad DPS and a good support, the support can look like an overperforming support hero, but on the average its not. Its a couple of outliers and smurfing/matchmaking skewing perception of reality.

The tanks that I play the most are winston and orisa. They just seem like the only good tanks to me, orisa for her cc immunity and winston for his mobility and bubble which has a lot of uses like cutting off healing.
