Throw 90% of the matches without realizing it while they constantly blame damage for not carrying their team.
When you play 2 off tanks, when you charge in as rein and suicide yourself into the team, when you play zarya and all of your bubbles are incorrectly used and gain no value. I can go on and on.
But this misconception that tanks are never to blame because they are playing “tank role” needs to stop.
As it has been stated many times before, tanks influence most of the comp and enable damage to do their job by using proper positioning and space creation.
But if you are playing a tank and just trying to get kills but get yourself killed, you are majorly hurting your team as you blame your damage for not killing anything. It’s major flawed logic on how to properly use the tank role.
Stop trying to ‘get’ kills and instead create space and punish those who try to invade your space or over extend. Your job is not to try hard and get kills.
If you play a barrier tank, position your barriers properly and stop over extending unless your team is pushing hard.

You should always support your tanks no matter how bad they are, because without them, you really don’t have any chance at all. Also - don’t listen to the toxic opinions of other people who don’t have your best interests in mind.
I think they meant those as two separate points. Put the word “or” in place of the comma and you’ll see.

If you know this much better how to play tank than anyone else & think that you’re better than anyone else, why dont you play tank yourself?
There are tank players who despise playing main (shield) tanks. Blame the dreadful meta and super slow balance changes, not them.
I personally refuse to touch Comp till the meta changes but everyone else has the right to play it and pick non-optimal off-tank heroes if they want to.
Damage blame tanks,
Tanks blame damage,
Supports blame devs,

honestly in all my time playing… there’s maybe 3 at best tanks/off tanks players that i ran into and it was mostly… I just couldn’t handle their passive play style lol.
imo low ranks shouldnt play rein, they should stick for something easier like orisa

YES! So many times has my maintank been complete garbage and whining about the dps. Like, maybe just MAYBE they aren’t getting kills because you can’t make space.
Meanwhile I’m over here somehow making it work with a 60% win rate on D.Va. If you stop playing comp, you’ll stop improving, and it will be harder to climb. I’ve had a few people that were toxic sure, but I know that they just have a bandwagon meta mentality. But I’m also in plat. Idk what your rank is or if it’s any different there.

You can’t throw a match and not know it. You either throw the match with intent or you’re just bad at the role.
I’ve sunk my tank role from Plat to Gold by playing her. Didn’t work out for me.

There are plenty, and I mean plenty, of tank players who think they are doing perfectly fine and they are not the problem in any way.
Have you ever seen a zarya where her bubbles are really bad and way off and wasted constantly, yet she argues shes doing great?
Exactly. They do not realize just how bad they actually are but are in denial of any self reflection.
I mean thats pretty much the reason why they are in gold/ Plat right? If they were as perfect as you want them to be they would be GMs/Top 500.
As for the blame game. Everyone gets blamed by everyone and noone watches the replays to see what the others actually did good and what they themselves did wrong. How often have I checked replay being like “wow that Moira only damaged” just to see that she was keeping my overextended Butt alive half the game and peobably got all her ults just from healing me.
But being bad is not throwing.
So if you join a comp game and a rein charges in constantly and suicide, you would consider that perfectly fine?
How about when both of your tanks go Dva - Hog or Dva Hammond?
Hey, they are picking tanks, so they are ‘filling’ their role. right? Right?
People throw because they are not really team players. A lot of tanks throw because they do not actually play tank roles. Players throw because they are too busy trying to get kills, no matter what the cost.
Playing bad is one thing. But some things are considered throwing due to obvious combo throw picks and there is also throwing by feeding 1v6.
At some point, playing bad is no longer an excuse for soft throwing a game. This is why in Masters+, you get reported for the simplest of things because it’s expected of you. If you don’t pick at least 1 main tank, everyone reports you without even saying anything.
Same for GM. People report if they feel you are soft throwing because you are expected to know the ins and outs of the entire game at that point.
