When you go 2 off tanks like Roadhog and Dva or Roadhog Zarya ?
Maybe. Just Maybe. It’s “You” that is the problem. Maybe, “You” need to enable your damage to do their job. Maybe your damage are not aimbotting widows across the map and that they actually need “space”. Do you know what that is?
Probably not. Some of you think that tank = just pick whatever and role with it. If you have gold medals, you are not the problem, it’s everyone else.
Please. I beg most of you, learn how the tank role works and why it is so dang important on what you pick. Your damage and supports are not going to always magically wipe the enemy team over and over until victory. They need space to work with.
If you pick a tank role and just play it as if you are a solo damage role that needs to carry, then you are going to seriously hurt your team because you are not thinking about your team, you are thinking about yourself.
If you come in here and start saying things like “It’s not the job of the tanks to properly pick…” Then guess what. Your damage should not have to switch off of Junk and doomfist to counter phar. “Deal with it and grow up” As AtomicTom below me states.

Space is a meme, if you’re tanks are running 2xoff tanks and you pick a DPS that is reliant on playing in the pocket then that’s on you - you don’t hear Doomfist or Tracer ever crying about “space.”
So grow up, people aren’t going to ever do what you want them to do, all you can do is play around them and adapt to the best of your ability in order to maximize your chances of winning with the obviously 2 other DPS players skipping que to Zarya/Hog.

And this is why so many players dont understand the game. Because it’s everyone for themselves.
So Atomic, what you are saying is… If the enemy team runs phar mercy, the tanks and supports should “deal” with it because your damage players are not required to swap off of junk, doomfist ect? Should we tell our team to “Deal with it, grow up” ?
In reality, damage would be flamed and mass reported for throwing. But if it’s tanks throwing, then no, that’s ok. Nothing to see here, move along?

It’s a universal problem, and it’s always the other guys fault. For years people were told to flex because DPS players wouldn’t switch. Now we have role que and guess what they still won’t switch. They will play the DPS they want at any cost and blame every one else.
Every one wants a shield tank, and then they pick a DPS that spends zero time behind that shield. Seriously people wanted even number of roles so we got role que. What is next team captains that pick the team comp and you are forced into specific heros?

I can’t agree more with you .
Had a match yesterday where our tank line was dva hog
And the dva kept complaining about the DPS the WHOLE match because they " weren’t doing anything "
Meanwhile our team kept dying to their team dps that were playing a rein
And she kept complaining and crying In chat how our DPS needed to change to something to get kills . Meanwhile the 4 non tank were just asking for just any shield to see if it can help , but no . Dva is on tank so no need to switch .
Then 2nd round our hog went rein
And suddenly , we were blocking the ennemy team on all of their push and won easily …
Our mcree could actually stand and shot their ennemy . We could actually stand in the choke and prevent them from just walking through …
So yeah , the DPS and healer have to try and synergize with the tank . But the tank also need to synergize with their team and play something that will actually help everyone
Because when you’re on dva hog , I will NEVER as a support have enough ressources to keep you up trough a whole team damage , while still enabling my DPS
It’s a team effort

Actually, not all damage stays behind the barrier constantly, they will fallback to it if needed. Also, the barrier gives space to supports as well. It’s not always about constantly using the barrier, it’s about the space it creates and ult charge prevention while allowing safe haven if need.
Barriers also help when it comes to enemy ults.
I can make a list of just how good barriers are in this game vs enemy team with no barriers.

In my experience everyone blames everyone for anything.

That is a very good call, you can take heroes which don’t rely on “space”, hell, I didn’t see any shield tanks in dive
Worse case, if you REALLY feel like the DPS needs space to run, then try Mei, she can create and hold space really well.

The problem with DPS that don’t need a barrier and only rarely get behind it is it leaves the tank very vulnerable. That lack of threat makes it very easy to just walk up and kill said tank.
If my team has a Phara/ flanking reaper/ Widow etc it makes it very easy for enemy Reapers/Mei/Zarya etc to just walk up and melt my face off because they have nothing but a few supports and tank to fear.

Of course it’s not always the DPS’ fault, especially if the tank picks aren’t working. But it’s pretty silly when for example in a game last week, we were running Winston + Hammond/Dive, and the McCree complained about not having a shield. And when I told them they could play around us, the TRACER said you can’t play around a Hammond. ??? Shouldn’t Tracer work pretty well in a dive-oriented comp? I get having a shield to stand behind is nice but you should learn how to play around other types of comps, too.

I actually had a game yesterday where i was playing on doomfist, i played fairly well, i had 12k damage after around 9 minutes, and the sigma got gold damage second round at some point, which was around 12400, not much more than me
The sigma proceeded to flame me because i didnt have gold damage, ignoring the other dps because he was playing soldier, which was a more “acceptable” pick even though i was outperforming him.
I told him that sigma that sigma does a lot of damage, and his ult is far far more powerful than mine is, that im not surprised he has better damage.
Then he proceeded to spam “plays Doomfist, asks tank to get kills LOL” for around 15 messages, replying that to every message i sent, in the end i had 14500 damage, he had 15500 damage.
According to him the loss was 100% only my fault and no one elses, no one else did anything wrong except for me, who was apparently throwing.
uh actually they do. If the tanks make 0 space, doom and tracer can easily get focus and died in 1-2s.

I mean, a two off tank team is pretty much the tanks throwing the game. I don’t know why it would even occur to them to blame anyone else.

The entire team is a just people flaming each other when nobody actually knows what is truly going on.
Tanks blame DPS for not doing damage and supports for not healing them, when in reality they’re the one going full rambo on the enemy team and dying for anything while screaming “mah objective” when you have 3 minutes left to actually go there.
DPS blames supports for not healing them while they can just move the camera and see the support is either healing someone on a worse state or dealing with that tracer that spraying red light all over the damn place. It also blames tanks for “not bringing shield” because god forbid using the walls on the map.
Supports blame DPS for not doing damage while not letting them survive by more than 2 secs by the Orisa holding left click and winning against them by sheer attrition + shield because you’re a DPS moira and would rather throw purple balls. Also blame tanks for not shielding while supports are the only thing that makes tanks not melt at this day and age.
Anyway, nobody likes to blame himself on chat. Me included.

As a Tank player I am so sorry for all of you guys who have bad teammates that are playing tank
I always Flex Tank so I always let the other tank pick first and I try to pick the tank that works the best with their tank.
Now tbh I sometimes try to insta lock Sigma so I don’t have to play Orisa

It doesn’t matter whether or not it’s a tank, dps or support, if players are going to be non-cooperative then you can either ask them to switch, which they won’t do, or you can take matters into your own hands. And yes, I’ve played entire games as DPS Baptiste vs Pharah because no one else picked a hitscan. It sucks, but if you think you’re going to change other people’s behavior then you’re just going to piss them and yourself off to no end.
So, again, grow up (and look at the 2xoff tank’s profiles, they’re both DPS players like 99% of the time).

Sometimes I give them plenty of space to work with, I push in as aggresivly as I can to take up that space, guess what happens, Nothing dies, and the push fails, rinse and repeat. That is when I blame dps.

Making space doesn’t actually mean mindlessly pushing when you should be pulling…

I know when to make space or not, what, do you think I charge headfirst into a supercharged enemy team or when I am alone ? Nah. I let everyone group up, then we push in, literally nothing dies, push fails. Repeat.
