Alot of y’all still really think a tank should be relegated to mitigating DMG and protecting allies
What is a tank IRL? It’s a giant metal gun on wheels. If it was designed for protecting something inside it, it’d be a bank vault
“Waaah, Hazard is just a fat DPS”
“Waaah, Hazard’s only damage mitigation doesn’t help the team”
“Waaah, Hazard’s Spike Guard is auto-aim”
“Waaah, Hazard can 1v1 backline”
YES! THATS THE POINT! HE’S SUPPOSED TO PULL YOUR ATTENTION AND BE THREATENING AND BE A BIG IMPOSING PRESENCE
There’s no taunt ability in the game that makes the enemy shoot at you like NPCs in an MMO, so tank has to pull that attention by threatening them with DMG or their abilities
You really think a tank can do that by babysitting you bunch of crybabies? NO! Stop thinking a tank is designed to hold your hand all game
I’ll be a little nicer and admit, for the longest time in OW2 I’d get salty too when I got dived and my tank didn’t help, but then that taught me to learn better positioning and work on my aim to win the 1v1 or force out the dive
But then I learned, the tank is jank if they’re always trying to protect the team. Imagine if a Rein never swung, charged, firestriked, or shattered and wasted all his time holding shield or trying to bodyblock for teammates, he’d be utterly useless!
Well then what’s the point of DPS, you might ask? Easy, DPS deal more DMG than tanks and can secure kills more reliably than any tank can believe it or not, despite what forum whiners might say
