The notion of tanks being a defense-oriented role is just outdated. OW2 tank is the perfect fantasy of tanks just being superior DPS heroes that are impossible to kill unless the rest of their team dies first.
Why are you making an entire thread directly in response to that other guys post about tanks being bad.
And this post is just low tier bait anyway. It just isnât true.
Tanks topping kills + damage in most matches across all ranks would disagree with your feelings.
I donât know why you think itâs a bad thing for tanks to be the best DPS heroes. Like I said, the notion that tanks should be defensive is just outdated. They should be defensive AND be able to quickly destroy anyone who tries to fight them.
Tanks are definitely not some unkillable god tier DPS that delete anything in their sight.
Stay in bronze please. Tanks are very killable rn and are bullied super easily lol, which is why people arenât playing them as much as the other roles. The only âunkillableâ tank is Orisa and thatâs when people keep shooting her instead of shooting the 2 supports hardpocketing her (or pressuring their DPS that arenât being supported)
Theyâre not easy killstreaks. When Iâm on a roll with Junkerqueen that is pure skill, it takes doing like a thousand and one things right, and ifnyou mess up just one, you die.
Or I win one fight and they go rein, pharah, widow.
Of course itâs pure skill, thatâs another fantastic benefit of tanks. They multiply your skill, but only when youâre playing a tank.
Tanks have the longest queues in my region so I donât know what youâre talking about. DPS have the shortest queues.
The only thing that can âbullyâ a tank is another tank, ironically. Any non-tank who tries that is going to die very quickly.
What does that even mean?
No, all the tanks are like that. And they should be.
She is the most fun canât wait till orisa gets nerfed this next patch so shes finally out of the way.
Oh yeah and I just absolutely demolished a zarya yesterday.
As a former dva onetrick, demolishing zaryas with junkerqueen is the best feeling in the world. Just gotta watch out for the bubbles.
She literally kept bubbling I usually melee to get them out she literally walked towards me and bubbled and I just straight up wasnât shooting.
*** What do you think I am bronze?
It felt almost insulting.
Bap is the best dps hero.
As a baptiste main I cannot agree or disagree with this message to avoid nerfs in the future.
Best support DPS hero IMO, if it wasnât for the new support (forgot her name).
tanks need to be threats to enforce space so yes, they need to have high damage to function as a role. This isnât an mmo.
This was never true. Although Reinhardt would often be the first guess of what an Overwatch Tank is, we have other Tanks that are part of the launch-roster that play nothing like Reinhardt, and were never Defensive, or Defense-oriented.
More or less why it is seen as ideal for most crowd control and debuffs to target them than other heroes. They donât die to passing winds compared to everything else.
Also another reason why Tanks generally shouldnât exist outside of MMOs.
At the higher rankings, Tanks generally donât get the top end returns. Everywhere else? Yeah, but this only really highlights why Tanks are such an easy to play role.
Or the enemy team fighting against you have no clue on how to deal with you. Junker Queen is still a rare pick for most players.
Getting up in the higher skill rankings, youâll find Junker Queen can have trouble soloing or killing targets with evasive, and attentive Supports. Moreover, crowd control abilities can really ruin Queenâs momentum. Still a solid Tank choice.
More like, theyâre more forgiving and have fewer harsh drawbacks thanks to their defensive abilities and higher natural sustain and health.
Specious. Some Supports are good choices for controlling enemy tanks, and there are some good choices and cooperative teamwork that can really control an enemy tank. Itâs not always going to be that a Tank needs to shut down another Tank.
But it is true, that your own Tank isnât forcing or creating space, then your team can have trouble with the limited space available to them.
Tanks donât really have high damage so much as they have area effect damage, and that theyâre exclusively the only targets in the game with double to triple the health (or more) of the opposing non-Tanks. Theyâre the kings of crowd control and a dominating presence on the field.
They arenât Tanks from MMOs, but they act like them and cause a lot of fundamental problems with Overwatch in general. And many other competitive games that have tried to use them, have had problems, because of what they do.
Exactly, tanks in MMOâs have an actual downside of doing less far damage than dps classes. In OW2 the tank player is the primary dps, and that makes perfect sense.
