Anyone else having this issue? My last 4 competitive games have had tanks pushing way too far in instead of playing the objective or waiting for the team to reset so we can push together. I’ve had to ask the tanks to stop because it’s simply not possible for me to heal them (or rez as Mercy) when they’re surrounded by the enemy team. My last competitive game ended up falling apart because they didn’t listen and ended up rage quitting.
Tanks are doing way more damage than dps, so the dps players are switching to tank and playing like dps. Welcome to Blizzard’s solution to getting more people to tank. Take one tank role away and have tanks do crazy damage.
Yeah a few. Its gonna happen. Happened in OW1.
My only advice would be to try Bap when you have people like that. Lantern can sometimes give you just enough time to keep the tank up and see things turn around. Mercy is in a rough place right now.
That’s why I decided to queue as tank. Too many trolling tanks around.
I’ll duoq as a support with a good tank that doesn’t throw any match.
I’ve been doing really well as Mercy. Have won more games with her than I’ve lost. Her and Lucio are my go-tos and I’ve been pleasantly surprised.
I get killed in 2 seconds anyways. Might as well get in there an score a kill while I do.
And dps arent playing aggressively enough…
This would also imply that DPS players are masochists and love them some queue times.
I get tanks that are either too scared to push or too aggressive to play objective. Feels like there’s hardly been a decent balance between the two.
I literally just finished a game and we had a 76 who had just about as much healing as dmg and it was only 2k… like how is thjat possible
It can work. If a tank dives with a support they can absolutely push the entire team back and make room
This is new. Give everyone a break. To you it might just be overwatch again but to a lot of people it’s their first time. Let them figure it out
Apparently. I just got stuck in Tank Queue (Damn Flex, Damn Daily/Weekly Challenge for Flex) as Tank. What a damn nightmare. Team doesn’t understand concept of push so I was always in a 1v5. Okay, I’ll go Rein and they can sit behind my shield. Nope! They don’t know what the big glowing blue box is.
I hate these challenges. I can’t play the game how I want, because I have to grind challenges to make any viable progress (I could just play a hundred thousand games per season, but I have other stuff to do). And most require a Win; just playing a match isn’t enough. This whole pass has been a miserable experience.
I get that, but when I am telling the tank to stop pushing up so hard, I would at least hope that they understand to pull back and play the objective. Payload maps have been a nightmare for me as support because the tank ends up pushing so far up that the rest of the team follows and ends up neglecting the payload that we should be fighting on instead of 30 feet up.
I understanding being new. I don’t understand a lack of communication and/or inability to listen.
Blizz turned them into raid bosses, so they dont’ care. They’ll just go around the map trying to kill anything in sight.
It’s just dumb.
Bring back 6v6.
Part of a tank’s job is “get an inch, take a mile”
If I cap King’s Row 1st and the enemy team is staggered, I am going to try to hold at 3rd point. Buy our team as much time as possible to push the objective, as I slowly get pushed back to my team (who have hopefully pushed a good distance in the meantime). I’m a tank, I make space as well as hold it.
And in OW2, an aggro solo tank can accomplish a lot more than they used to. If they’re actually good.
Tanks are pressing W
I don’t like to do this usually without seeing codes but it’s less common that a tank should be fighting on the payload if he can instead be making good space ahead if it and that tank should be supported up there if at all possible.
You can move the cart after you win the fight
A tank holds the front line.
You only need one person on the cart to push progress.
Staggering the enemy team is a viable strategy since ow1.
Tanks don’t always have to play on the point. They are more so the front line.
I’ve seen this a lot myself, sometimes the oopposite with junkerqueen and hog players.
Exactly.
Tanks are pushing simply because they are like animal pushed into a corner. Taking all the frontline damage FEELS AWFUL. And i mean not only form a gameplay perspective but visually too. Playing Tank now it’s more tiring than ever.
