People complain about dps but all of their buffs were because of supports and tanks.
In fact I should switch this thread to tanks and supports tbh. Atleast supports are in a good spot at besides Bap and he is broken

In past year or so, tanks have almost only been nerfed, and dps only recently have received some nerfs.
Sorry to say, but OG double sh ield and goats have been long gone, I think the “tanks are at fault” train has passed it’s station a while ago, choo choo. Its the dps’ game now.

More like “Compositions have been too durable”.
But one way they could have solved that, is by removing every aspect of heroes that act like Tanks, but aren’t Tanks.
Or make them into Tanks
I.e. Brig, Mei, Bap
Tanks shouldn’t exist in FPS games. The concept is a carry over from fantasy games, where there is some heavily armored knight taking the blunt of the evil dragon’s attack. Reinhardt is a clear cut example of that. A guy in literal armor, shielding his allies from attacks.
Doesn’t transition to modern times that well. Most people don’t know this, but tanks don’t want to get shot at, they just happen to have protection from things that shouldn’t be shooting at them. If something actually wants to attack a tank, the tank probably isn’t going to survive it.
So what am I rambling about? Well it’s a fundamental problem. You shoot at the biggest threat. Try and take out of the rocket system. So there’s a barrier infront of the rockets, take that out first. Who wants to play a barrier? Should a barrier be completely passive or threatening too? This has to be engaging otherwise it’s just busy work.
Long story short, they turned the barrier protecting the rocket launcher system into a bigger threat than the rockets themselves.
I mean we can blame supports and it’s valid but Tanks were just as much to blame

Your post should’ve read “DPS is the only okay role, the other two are problems.”
Which, if we’re being honest, really means DPS is the outlier, not tanks OR support.
And if I’m being honest, I don’t even think that is true. Because at the end of the day, what you’re boiling down to is “DPS need more power because tanks/supports are too much.” Which I find categorically untrue. DPS do rely on tanks and supports, but tanks and supports also rely on DPS.
My issue isn’t with the current tanos and supports.
Dps is now the carry role but they’ve only got to this point because of how broken tanks and supports have been historically.
Now that tanks are balanced they aren’t fun since they can’t just run over people with ease and can get punished. Supports were luckily able to be balanced and still fun with the exception of Moira since she is pretty boring for most.
This is a mmorpg turned into a shooter. It was designed to be that way, a true FPS version of WoW. There are direct lines to each character to a fantasy trope, and have always been.
Tanks belong here. This is what makes this game engaging. TTK should be longer. One shots should all be extremely skill based.
I dont understand the need or want to turn this into another CoD style game. Its so unique and every step to turn into a basic shooter burns more players. The CoD fans…who turn to each new release of that and the clones…and the people who wanted this difference just leave.

No I just want a fine balance but blizzard had failed to do that.
When tanks or supports are OP we are in a heavy sustain meta where nothing dies. When Tanks and Supports are weak everything dies super fast. But it’s also very hard to find the perfect balance for these heroes without being OP or Under powered.
We need a perfect balance. Not to the point where only tanks decided matches but not to the point where we have 4 players and 8 spectators unless Bap or Zen are played.

It’s not turning it into something else, it’s knowing what works and doesn’t. MMOs are PvE in mind. Yes, there is some PvP to it, but you don’t face off against other players in a 1-1-3 group because tanks can’t hold aggro/threat against players who know to target healers or fragile dps. So you’ll either up with a tank that’s just boring to play but effective, or that’s more of a threat that the dps to which you ask, why would you want dps unless you’re forced to take it?
No. Thats not true. I came to this game because it was an FPS WoW. To play tanks and to play support.
The game has neutered both of these. Due to DPS buffs and retuning. The tanks were always able to be destroyed by focus of 2toons working together. Now its closer to a one v one game than its ever been. But thats how tanks work high hp, slow moving danger. Or fast tickle damage disruption and out.
I always have more fun as a tank or support than dps. To this day! Despite the continous undertuning to all in these classes. Support defense ults charge too slow for their intended uses…tanks dont soak damage anymore and are required to throw punches…(although an unintended bonus is…now at lower ranks no shield against shield isnt an auto loss)
