Anyone figure out how to tank against Orisa?
Does she have a tank counter? I feel like I’m losing games just because there’s an Orisa on the other team and it feels like I can’t do anything against her.

It depends on the tank. Honestly, I’ve been doing alright with Roadhog if I just blast her face with no fear. Otherwise, for other tanks I think for me its about keeping distance, timing and dodging spear cool downs. Just witling health down, keeping up pressure. Otherwise, disrupting their healer is another tactic.
I kill her supports with ball.
She doesn’t.
Most of the time your best bet is to ignore her and kill her supports. Of course you usually can’t do this alone, so hope your team can outshine theirs.
Mobility, flanking, and forcing her to have to turn around to help Supports are your best counters.
Whatever tank you pick against her your job is to distract Orisa to let your DPS have space to elim her teammates.
Orisa is great at taking care of herself but she’s the worst tank at covering her teammates.
You give your snipers a lane as a tank and Orisa has no answer for that
It’s difficult she is the tank counter tank if that makes sense
She can bully you and you can’t really do much about it
The main thing with orisa is always focus other people. She will not die if you shoot at her and she has her supports (she’s supposed to be like that. Her range sucks and she lacks mobility)
Here’s a replay of beating an orisa. Pretty sure they played them the whole time.
JVPXGV
Lastly: stay alive don’t get into a brawl with her even as rein or JQ she will win from survivability
Your best bets are Zarya, D.va, Ramattra and Sigma.
Sigma and Ramattra have range on her and she’s worthless if they can keep that range, but she will dominate them both in close range.
Zarya because she mitigates damage and ignores her javelin and the spin, but she can only do good damage against Orisa if Orisa or her team blast Zarya’s bubble.
D.va because she can eat javelin, can create distance and is great at close range. None of that means anything if Orisa manages to land javelin and get enough free damage on D.va.
Orisa is the only tank designed to fight the other tanks, her only counters are range, mitigation and delete, all of which she can get around and render useless.
Orisa is the worst tank at taking care of her team? JQ, arguably doom, and in many cases hog have just about 0 options to defend their team. They all have 1 CC ability to occasionally disrupt an assault.
Orisa also has that, but with range (javelin) as well as semi mobility + useful mitigation with spin and a huge hitbox + fortify to body tank for her team better than anyone else can body rank.
She also has the best tank weapon by far for covering her team because she can apply pressure at better range than the other tanks to help discourage a certain enemy from aggressive actions.
Orisa isn’t amazing at protecting her team but she definitely is capable of doing it a lot of the time. She’s no rein or sigma, and not even a d.va, but they have some of the strongest defensive abilities in general.
It really depends on what DPS and support she has to help her, but Sigma is usually my go to choice. If you know how to manage his CDs well she’s absolutely negated. His shield of course can block her primary fire and javelin, and kinetic grasp does the same and turns them into overhealth. So knowing how manage the two is big. His rock can also stun her out of the javelin spin as long as she isn’t fortified. And as long as you bait out fortify and make sure you don’t get hit by javelin (either bait it out, make sure you have you shield to block it, or use map for cover), you can easily ult her to do dmg = to half her health. So Sigma can outplay her.
I also like to use Dva as, like Sigma, she can negate her primary and javelin. Then just get in her face and blast her with missiles after she uses the spin. And she also has nothin to block bomb.
But the main thing is, as I said earlier, it depends on who she has for DPS and support. If she has people that spam dmg like bastion or soldier I use Sigma so I can turn that dmg into overhealth and I also have a little shield. If they have people who dive like tracer/sombra, or people you need to dive like widow/hanzo I like to use Dva.
As a tank you typically want to go for the squishies first, unless the tank is killable in the moment. If she’s not, try not to put too much focus on her until you get a pick or two.
You can lead your team to kill her squishies (or lock doom and do it yourself), which would cut her off from support and lead her to death regardless of her actions. That’s the only strat that seems to work for me.
I just shove Reinhardt’s hammer up her backside, same as I did in OW 1.
Zarya, she can’t really do anything to her through her bubbles, and her beam damage is super consistent throughout all of her defensive options.
I feel there is nothing about Orisa herself to necessarily exploit tank vs tank. Most tank picks to me are what can you do to her backline as most of what she doesn’t does not directly affect her team. Orisa’s defense is getting so far in your face you can’t see anything except her, but she can’t always force it.
Hammond/Winston/Dva/Ball dive backlines. However, this leaves Orisa to do whatever she wants to your team and it’s up to your team to have to defend themselves.
Many of the ground based tanks with nomobility get harassed by Orisa with javelin toss and spin. Hog, Rein, Zarya, Junkerqueen. Zarya has probably the highest potential DPS out of any tank to try to help melt an Orisa down from midrange. While also having some defensive utility to escape her ult and CC. Rama has shield, lots of survival on block and armor, as well as much poke damage. He can get carried away, but he’s also equally hard to kill.
Sigma I think performances the best out of all the tanks. He has a shield and grasp that can absorb quite a bit of damage from Orisa at range mitigating her range advantage while also providing cover for your team to batter Orisa down with. If Orisa gets behind Sigma, you can shield her from several healing sources. Rock combo a her backline.
She can stop his ult while he can’t do much against her ult, but flux is arguably more powerful than Orisa ult.
Agreed, it’s also helpful to push to the side of Orisa and start shredding her team after she gives you charge.
All I said was she doesn’t have a tank counter. I wasn’t answering how I (or anyone else) counters her, but maybe you were posting generally. As a tank player I think it’s horrible balance to not offer direct counters within the same role (I actually think all roles should have something that heavily counters each individual hero). I feel identically about Widow.
Orisa Javelin doesn’t need to spin and interrupt and stun and boop and wall slam.
Zaria is the perfect think counter
Orisa’s range nerf was pretty harsh, you can beat her with poke pretty effectively.
Ignore her.
Orisa is a damage sponge. She can kill if you’re a squishy right up against her or she gets a good javelin stun up close but the best way for most DPS and especially for tanks to deal with Orisa is to ignore the horse and kill everybody around her. Her peel isn’t very good, a Rein can just hammer through her team, Sigma puts up a barrier and can pelt her team with rocks and balls, Ball, Winston, Doom and even D’va can just dive right past her to the squishies and Hog and JQ and Zarya aren’t under any threat from her and are a higher threat in themselves. If you shoot at her you’re playing into her hands, her javelin spin and fortify plus significant health and armour makes her very survivable.
I mostly just go sigma to try and keep her busy and hope the DPS can kill her supports
Her only real counter is to kill her supports TBH
Or just go Orisa and hope I’m the better cow
