Tank will never get better

While I have a moira sky diving into dps mode and another support barely healing. I see why people do not want to play tank. This game needs role queue with a 2nd tank. I literally cannot stress this enough. Tank will ALWAYS be horrible to play because of this

Delete the tank role, fixes everything

I think there’s no need to remove anyone, just bring them back the way they were in the first game, that’s all.

Absolutely! since everything worked fairly good before. Also I just dont understand why we need to remove the tank, its the whole big part of the game

Go play call of duty

Trying to play call of overwatch

What we need is a forced brawl meta, buff Rein and JQ!

You can’t like Overwatch if you dislike one of its main selling point. Its like saying “I love Strawberry soda, but it’d be better without the soda”. And then when people say “Just drink strawberry juice; I don’t think you like soda” you go “NO! NO! THE ENTIRE DRINK MUST BE CHANGED FOR EVERYONE, I SHOULDN’T FIND A DIFFERENT DRINK!”

You can though, the reason a ton of people saw interest in overwatch was Tracer, Genji and all the fps heroes.

Who seriously saw overwatch and was like i’m gonna play the hammer swing guy or the no aim monkey. I wanna be the kpop girl weeeeee

Me. Because I grew up playing generic shooter games and wanted a bit more out of the genre. I can always go back to Call of Duty (in fact, I do.), but that doesn’t mean I want every game to be a basic shooter.

press x to doubt, bet you were a tank main in wow lmao

I don’t think moira is a good tank healer, so not sure why shes catching strays.

Further more the tank should be aware of the type of support they are playing with (not the hero, the style of play) and adjust accordingly.

As “support” role isn’t “healer” its a combination of CC, healing, debuffing, and damage assistance, and to really push the point of effective healing, sometimes damage (not the role) is better healing than healing.

I’m not sure why Tank is so unpopular, but I suspect it’s because there is more responsibility involved, and a lot of the team’s success rides on having the Tank there as an anchor.

In OW1 I think it was a mix of more responsibility, and Tanks just not being as powerful as they are now and players wanting to move faster and deal more damage.

In late April or w/e when I started playing again, initially I was still very pro-6v6 with two tanks, and disliked the tank reworks. But after a few weeks I changed my mind.

I think the game flows better with 1 tank, that is powered up a bit. And yeah, the role isn’t as popular so having 1 per team makes finding matches easier. And on the flip-side of that, tank players have the added bonus of no competition for hero picks.

I still like 6v6, but with role queues I think it might work best with 1 tank, 2 support and 3 dps. Though maybe Idk what I’m talkimg about.

to be fair that would also imply that theres overwatch without tanks.

call of duty isn’t simply strawberry soda without the soda.

its more like apple juice, something completely different while still healthy.

for me its mostly the buffs to tanks and increase of everyones hp that made me dislike the role.

was basically a tank otp in end of ow1 and up until s9 of ow2.

got hyped extremely with clash as its awesome but it came with s9 which ruined it completely. followed by s12 to make sure I never tank again.

Having two tanks doesn’t make tanks fun, it just means there’s twice as many tank players complaining per match

I don’t like the unkillable tanks either, especially how much they’ve changed from OW1. But I don’t see the point in removing tanks who’ve been part of the game’s core mechanics from the start. They just shouldn’t have that much HP. I used to be able to kill any tank with two crits as Widow, now to solo-kill a Roadhog I have to land god knows how many crits and still end up dying just because… well, just because. And don’t even get me started on that little dude with a ball.

Everyone has their own preferences. Some like swinging a hammer in the wind. Personally, I enjoy playing only DPS, preferably aim-heavy ones. My top 3 over the years were Widow, Soldier, and Hanzo.

I once met a Rein main who played almost exclusively him, and he reached a level of zen. Where when we queued for QP, he would just carry the entire enemy team by himself despite only having melee. He learned every player pattern and played like a crush machine.

My friend is a Mercy main, they just enjoy supporting and pocketing. I see nothing wrong with preferring tanks or supports only either.

Blizzard simply made a mistake by boosting tank health to absurd levels, turning them into raid bosses like they’re about to tank Mythic Garrosh, not stomp on two random DPS hobos. And now, if they ever tried to revert things back to how they were, this forum would explode, because most people are already used to these changes, and returning to the roots and proper balance would feel like “disrespecting tanks” or “killing Overwatch” to them.

Just play 6v6. Tank is pretty good there.

Personally I would be happy with an autofill feature. If I queue for tank and support I get tank most of the time. I think they should do it like League of Legends where there is a chance you get given a role you didn’t queue for. I would happily play tank a % of the time if no one else wanted to

I just quoted this for emphasis because I said similar things in protest back when they said we were going to 5v5. The tank would simply have to be a “raid boss”, but that’d bring its own headaches. Literally trading one headache for another instead of fixing the problems, or accepting 6v6’s issues if the problems couldn’t be fixed.

I think they didn’t like the idea of tanky tanks slowing the gameplay down, but I also don’t think every tank needed to be equally tanky. The mobile tanks could have been squishy, the immobile tank could have been healthy, and there could have been healthy counters to both variant of tank in the form of the damage heroes and support abilities. The stuns and the sleeps and stuff.

But they attempted to please everyone and ended up side grading the problem instead of fixing it.
