They need to give Doom the ability to punch into the sky from the April fools. If too strong make slight adjustments to him.
That’s not a TLDR my friend… if you can’t sum it up in two sentences, you probably got too esoteric.
So ive tried Doomfist myself since beta came out I have over 1300+ hours on doom combined and peaked around 4500
What I can say is that doom feels really good but has some problems which are:
- Rocket Punch tickling enemies 70 max damage is way too low for BOTH wall+impact
- power block should work from LEFT and RIGHT aswell, while continue to be vulnerable from behind
- Primary Fire should be made tighter and have travel time increased, falloff removed
- power block should BLOCK flying projectiles like Orisa Javelin/Sleep/hook
- Meteor Strike is still the same trash OW1 ult which makes no sense for a tank since all the tank ultimates are quite powerful.
That’s all really otherwise he feels good to play and the ground work for his rework is good just need some interaction/number tuning
Doom feels amazing to play and ive won pretty much all my games on him so far. But he needs some tweaks for sure. I also want his shotgun to sound and feel like a wrist shotgun.
Also bring back air time damage and make rollouts viable again too
Do you know what is the amount of his fully charged punch with power block charged? I haven’t been able to test the numbers.
Yeah I’m really gonna miss the synergy of getting a hog one trick as my other tank 90% of the time that spends all game flanking and ignoring me completely.
Now you get to have that Hog as your only tank while he does the same thing!
I think he’s great. He doesn’t have the no-skill BS moves anymore.

He feels good but power block needs some more strength. Right now as the only tank he can’t even protect his team from hook, sleep, etc because those go right through his fist and the cooldown is probably a second too long to keep him fluid.
Power punches are also not worth it enough. Even once you do block 100 damage and are ready to play bowling, the enemy team isn’t just going to let you charge a punch in front of them if they are compotent, so DF is usually using the punch to escape which means his team needs to fall back because he is still waiting for his block to come back.
I wouldn’t be opposed to more punch damage (if it’s empowered) but there is the expectation that he shouldn’t be one shotting people from full health still. Punch as a 3 second cooldown is for utility now more than damage
You only play tank? Cause the issue you have with Hog still applies to you/other players if they/you are playing DPS or heals. With Hog being the only tank.
I play tank 90% of the time. My point is that tank “synergy” goes straight out the window the moment the person you’re supposed to synergyze with picks hog and that’s like every game now days. I’d much rather have complete power of the tank role in my hands. I haven’t lost a single tank game yet in OW2.
I’ve noticed as someone who mains tank that doom is much more aim reliant. Make no mistake he can kill 200hp targets easily, he just doesn’t have ability kills… So far the best way I’ve found to play him is find someone close to a wall, punch → left click → left click for a guaranteed kill while they are slowed, block until a movement CD is up and take an alternate path out. Pretty much the only counter for this is Ana hitting her sleep. If their tank peels, your team rolls the front line.
Tankfist seems very team-dependent. His damage does seem weak, but he’s got a ton of CC ability. I’ve seen people go DF on my side and absolutely go ham on the enemy team, but it’s usually when we have a dive-heavy comp. He also might look better with either a) a nerf to Orisa or b) a slight damage buff. I can’t imagine it’s easy to play a dive tank with Orisa Brawler Extraordinaire currently owning every map.

This has caused so many issues in the beta for me. And some rebound buttons won’t even work properly.

To me made Doomfist as a tank was a bad idea and just for having a ““new”” tank to offer to the public, but i prefer (incredible for me to write this) if he return as a DPS.
