Talents would make the game feel fresh again

Junkenstein’s Lab is yet another example of player choice having a big impact in terms of fun factor.

I’m not saying the talents should be as broken as they are in Junkenstein’s Lab, but similar effects would really spicen things up.

I’m not surprised also i found some cheaters in arcade too

Can I interest you in Paladins

Why are yall saying Paladins… idk what that is

It is a game similar to Overwatch but with the difference that it has a fantasy theme and instead of changing characters you can edit your character’s abilities with various systems including talents. Normally people call it “the poor man’s copy of Overwatch”, even though the game was announced in 2012, more than two years before Overwatch was announced, but at that time the game was called Global Agenda 2, and it was the sequel to Global Agenda which is another game also similar to Overwatch and this one did have the same futuristic aesthetic that Overwatch uses.

yes! and I also think the lack of ability to switch is also making me feel like this game is fun again like I actually have to be creative and find ways to get value when I roll out on pharah vs dva soldier ashe XD

Nah i played paladins since first beta. Its same game for many years without any new creative/innovated content.

they can’t even balance the game with heroes that are identical, talents would just make it worse

What choice… ? I tried this game mode and missclicked on Mercy and was hero locked the entire match. I’m against leaving (and I never would) but this tilted me so much and reminded me of the worst idea devs came up with in P2P OW : Hero bans…

Such talents only make sense in PVE.

No PVE = No reason to have them, period.

The only thing that could be interesting for PVP would be choosing between 2 abilities for each ability slot but they’ll never do this because our community is so whiny that we can’t deal with certain heroes’ kit such as Widowmaker or Sombra (unless we hardnerfed them until they’re dead)… so I guess it won’t ever happen.

If anything, the game will only become simpler with more generic kits in the future, since that’s what we seem to want for the game in the future…

I think your accidental miss-click is a good critique for the UI/UX design. It’s happened to me too. It would be nice to able to reselect the choice at the start of a game.

I can understand players feeling mixed on the fixed hero selections as being off putting because it’s not what we’re used to nor are heroes balanced around that. I don’t think I mind it too much, after all it’s typical with other team based FPS games and MOBAs, and we have nothing to lose. However, for what we’re used to and to avoid accidental selections they should at least allow us to reselect at the start of a match.

Then, to keep some OW aspect to the game with hero swapping, perhaps allow us to at least reselect heroes between rounds maybe at the cost of card resources or something. Plus, I’d like to see more heroes in it. They always keep the hero pool small for some reason.

Perhaps removing the RNG aspect and have a set of selectable talent/ability choices similar to what you suggested or what we saw with the passives last time in the hacked testing thing. I’m not sure what is best but there’s definitely a lot more they could do.

Right now for me it’s fun for casual PVP but I might not like it for serious competitive modes yet. For that, it would have to be it’s own game because I think it needs specific types of maps or game modes for it. And the base hero builds would need to be really toned down to allow more flexible additions without being too busted early on. Like a MOBA game where characters gradually grow stronger.

I’m having more fun with it atm than just normal quick play than I usually do these days. Perhaps I’ll get tired of it eventually but I’m liking it so far and I think it has potential for at least a fun more permanent arcade mode. Also, I don’t think that because the PVE content was canceled, that the developers need abandon those resources or not create mini events like this. It can be it’s own standalone thing or something idk and I’m fine with that because for me the main game has lost a lot of it’s appeal.

ALSO I want these resources for the workshop so we can make our own fun stuff man! Come on devs, update it!

Wow I sure love having THREE ROUNDS of throwers! Love Waste of Timewatch!

If only there were some way to let talents be broken in a way that is fun in a gaming environment.

Iiiiiiiiif onlyyyyyyyy…
