It feels horrible to 1vs1 an ana as example, it takes 3-5 orbs. Sym is a non healing support hero.
She has low damage ontop of high health pools, just makes it painful. Level 1 beam feels really bad too
Her orbs charge to slowly, for their damage, the DPS of the orbs is like 90, (charge time, damage, travel time)

season 9 changes really messed her up. still ive seen a lot of people say she is strong in ranked. i guess only coordinated teams or full premade teams 
so her kit makes her strong with coordinated and premades, which is porter mainly. probably should redesign her for solo play instead of team play i dunno

I have success with her alot, positive winrate, etc, but she feels bad and less fun to play before season 9. You’ve become more team reliant after season 9, all because of worse damage.
Orbs need to charge quicker, their DPS is just so bad.
Sym is “strong” on maps where you can use cheese tactics using the tp with a coordinated team, then you immediately switch off of her.

Her role is mostly against shield heroes and she brutally melts them with ease.

Her DPS isn’t bad, it’s just niche in a stupid way.
She’s fine if she’s got a bunch of shields she can farm, or a choke that she can reliably have her turrets set up on. Or if she can surprise the enemy team with teleporter tactics. The problem is that even on maps with chokes, she’s not going to be able to sit at that choke forever. And any opponent worth their salt is going to quickly adapt to a Symmetra farming their shields or teleporting into their backline.
So Symmetra gets a few minutes of relevance at most before she’s no longer a decent pick. … or you could just go Soldier and be a decent pick all the time.

Compare the new DPS Venture, Sojourn, and Freja to her and it’s laughable. They decimate Sym in the blink of an eye and it’s not even a fair duel at all.
Sym is supposed to be this sort of spam brawler and be able to push and contest others but she can’t really do that on her own cause her HP isn’t 300 like other brawlers (who also have better escape and sustain), and she has poor damage for duels in which she should really just be able to rely on her orbs to take. Ramp up time for beam just isn’t realistic to rely on in one on one fights and her orbs suck.
Her perks also suck in comparison to other heroes, they don’t really apply any interesting changes to her playstyle and just feel like minor extensions of her existing kit. Like how Moira just gets a longer fade or higher jump…it’s okay.
I would like her at 300hp though that is just unrealistic. So instead I would just ask to increase orb damage to 115/120 and remove or reduce the splash damage. She should be able to have her hero fantasy back just like Hanzo and other heroes to where she can two tap the hyper mobile 225 squishes.
The TP shield gen perk just feels bad to me and I don’t like how you HAVE to use your only escape ability just to slowly heal yourself…It should have been a perk to allow turrets to heal you when near them, stacking shield HPS the more you have around you. This way you don’t HAVE to use an ability to benefit from the healing, this rewards Sym for holding her space and would just seem to mesh better with her playstyles like backline TP bombs or holding rooms and chokes. Turrets should also have a perk to have an increased or lingering slow, controversial hot take I know, but high mobility is just a huge problem I think and there needs to be harsher counters to it.
She should also have a perk to add Photon Shield on her weapon swap, I feel like having her old shield back would just help her a lot.

The dps IS bad, regardless of shields or not. She needs to reach the level 3 beam to compete with other dps, and the only way that is happening is if the other team completely ignores you, or your team already won the fight without you needing to contribute.
She just plays quite different than many heroes in the game.
Turrets should be placed and the whole team work around them.
if the team know where the turrets are, they can use them to a huge advantage.
Her major perk of heal tp is life weavers minor perk , and he doesn’t even have a downtime considering his survivability is already strong . Ones major can not be another’s minor , it’s very unfair
Her longer beam perk needs to be a minor perk, and perhaps some changes to her perks to give her the options to be more damage or support oriented.
Extra turret perk is meh. Should give 2 or do more with the turrets like torbs hammer perk. (More health, longer turret range, faster cool down, etc.) or just get rid of the turrets for something better lol, maybe a new ability.
Even 4 turrets is laughable on 90% of the maps. Maps now involve moving from place to place very quickly, many entrances so choke points are irrelevant, long sight lines to poke from afar and just avoid walking into turrets, etc. I can throw 4 turrets around a backline support to protect them (not saying that’s a good play, just an example) and a single tracer could happily skip back there, kill the support, and then kill me. Lol like what’s even the point of turrets anymore. Weird how they can get torbs right but not syms.

I dunno why they doesnt make her a TP specialist with shorter and deadlier beam, 2 TP charge and faster TP build and TP stays longer on field.
You have to force the right click more. The charge of her right click is slow a little bit. I think she needs a little perk rework for her perfect alignment with faster charge rate.
Sym’s right click is a travesty. You need to land 3 charged shots, consecutively, to kill squishy heroes.
Idk. So long as I can do turret tp flanks I don’t care where her damage lies. 4 turrets tp in with them hits a support and one right click and you can kill within a second maybe 2. It’s incredibly fun to do even if it’s niche.
Symmetra is not even a brawler really. She’s a primarily still a defense hero and one of the few true defense heroes existing in the game. Widowmaker is not a defense hero. Her primary way of play is people come to her rather than her go to them. That’s a function of map design enabling her kit.
Turrets make up a large portion of her power budget and half the time she can’t use it because they are quickly dispatched, long cooldown, and short range. Meaning the only way to use them reliably is to play defense missions like Control maps where you grab point, then set-up. Force people through defense type of having taking map to pressure them into coming to you.
Many maps are not well suited for playing defense unless you play it the whole map like escort or hybrid. She can attack, but the effectiveness of her attack is limited to maps with annoying choke points like control maps. The new game modes of Push/Escort are so volatile and short lived its hard to set-up for super long. Its very rapid attacking and defending.
Her primary DPS is a huge weakness because the ramp up time and lack of headshot is a liability when most DPS function off burst kills. Tracer, Cass, Widow, Hanzo, Sojourn, Ashe, Echo, Venture, Genji, etc. are all of the most powerful heroes over time and relied upon burst damage.
Its really telling when sym players complain about the character being bad when shes a top 3 dps.
In what world is symmetra a top 3 dps? Let’s not go to owcs.

I wish more heroes were like this. The all-arounder heroes are usually the problematic ones.
