Symmetras width nerf is too punishing!

Do we really expect a sym with 200 health, a 12 meter beam, and no sustain to track squishies up close with 60 damage at level 1 charge? Zaryas beam has a small hitbox, but she has more health, defense, and twice the beam length. Please consider making it atlesst .20

seriously.

its not that easy to aim with sym’s lvl1 beam already.

after the patch its gonna be diabolical.

i’d take the damage nerf over the width nerf.

out of all the aiming heroes sym’s beam is the easiest to aim with… It’s on par with moira if not even more forgiving.

Yikes, I can now understand why people are needlessly complaining about this change. It’s easier to track with beam weapons than all other hitscans, sorry if you guys didn’t know because you’re one tricking.

It’s not as easy as Moira but it’s definitely more forgiving than other hitscans.

wasn’t replying to you.

at least hitscans have consistent damage they can put out all the time.

sym has to get up close to the enemies and charge her beam for like 4 seconds just to do damage and it could cause her a death.

If that is the case, then its still harder to aim pretty much any other weapon in this game other than moira or winston. Also lvl 1/2/3 all have the same hitbox.

The width nerf is fine. The damage nerf is the real problem. Making the beam skinner is more rewarding for your aim. The damage nerf just makes killing enemies harder AND makes her damage against barriers even worse.

This has what to do with Sym’s beam being consistent and overpowered?

If some of you step back for a moment and just look at how Sym is literally melting teams and compare that to other DPS characters you’d finally get it.

Compare a common Mccree or Tracer that is pushing with their shield or flanking to Sym doing it on live right now. They’re getting nowhere near that amount of value. The character was broken and she’s rightfully getting nerfed.

7-8% damage nerf is nothing. It’s not even taking a full extra second for her to melt a squishy or destroy a barrier at max charge.

After the patch it’s like Zaryas beam, even still better than the previous uncharged Zarya… mimimi

actual home of the phobia.

anyways.
if a McCree walks up to a sym, he will win.
flashbang, dead.

You miss out on 30 damage now when getting to full charge. That’s a whole melee hit which is significant

Nope, we expect sym’s to use the barriers available to them for cover to charge off the large tanks and THEN hit squishies with a fully charged beam.

If you believe that the devs nerfed Sym because gay players like her and not because of what she’s doing in games I feel bad for you.

Read what I actually said, this game isn’t about 1vs1 duels. There is currently no hitscan character that is offering the raw power that Sym currently does in melting barriers and players and on top of that doing it with more forgiving aiming than the others.

This is offset by the consistency of her beam now even after the width nerf. Remember it’s not the overall damage that made Sym suddenly a problem. She had that damage before the bugfix. The problem is how easy it is for her to consistently track with that damage that caused her and Zarya to receive the nerf.

This is too hard for people to understand. People don’t want to give up that type of solo power(7% dmg nerf lul) when they perceived the character to be a throw pick before.

The “throw pick” characters never want to hear it when their character becomes obviously overpowered. We saw it with Valk 2.0, we’ve seen it with Bastion, Reaper and now Sym. They think the character not being great in the past justifies the character being allowed to be broken right now.

That is laughable to say the least… Moira’s targeting box is double the width of a test range dummy… Its about on par skill-wise for tracking with Zarya’s beam.

People are making way more out of this than it is to be frank.

You, the symmetra players are not allowed to have fun. End of discussion.

It’s not offset when she’s hitting a barrier. The bug fix had to do with tracking small to medium targets. The damage nerf just flat out makes her do less damage to barriers and bigger targets.
