Seriously, why these specific perks? The rest of the characters got their old abilities back in the form of perks, while the only thing that came back from the old versions of Symmetra is the visual effect of her old beam that they now use for the teleporter perk.
They could have done so many things but they went for the most boring and simple changes they could imagine, the only decent perk she has is the one that extends the range of her beam, but that’s something they should have added to shooting years ago
Shield regen is strong perk.
Symmetra has “noob stomper” sticker attached to her, due to auto aim turrets. She is not allowed to be good sadly. And that is reflected on her perks.
Buffing / nerfing perks will be yet another battle with devs that already take a long time to deliver standard balance patches every 2 months or so… (mid-season patches are usually trash).
Her perks are actually very nice and balanced, though I do believe there are some that aren’t needed at all for her all while the entire rest of the hero roster got overbloated perks that just power creep them exponentially (with some exceptions).
The team should’ve made perks more in line with Sym for the rest of the cast. Where they are centered around shifting the utility and playstyle aspects of a hero instead of bloating their damage and healing numbers.
Her major perks are very nice, the minor ones need to be completely remade. In fact I think her shield gen perk should just apply to any of her buildables and then visually send out a healing pulse to Sym like a blue Illari turret. Would be way better to have in her turrets than her TP.
There are worse perks out there. Sombra’s first 2 perks feel like they rarely trigger and the trans starting the heal passive feels like a QOL change instead of a real perk. Virus either has a 2 - 4 second duration and even then, the cd is already low.
Heal hack is nice and allows her to peel better but the hack one feels like a nerf. It’s 2 seconds but you have to be whispering in their ear with the range decrease. Any hero with on demand mobility isn’t going to get hacked.
I’m pretty satisfied with syms perks but at the end of the day, its still sym and some of the best heros got the best upgrades.
How to make better:

+1 Turret perk:
Add in the ability for Turrets to be able to fire at enemies while in flight. Makes a good scouting tool AND allows a good engage. -
+50% Teleporter range:
Add the ability to be able to use Teleporter to save yourself when booped off a cliff and it allows Symmetra to instantly teleport as soon as you confirm the placement. -
Stupid Beam “enhancement” that just gives you nearly +2 meters at max charge:
Make this also improve orb Velocity (speed orb moves) by +50% AND it gives +2 meters AT THE START on top of the +2 at max charge (total of +4 meters) -
Diet Shield Gen
It’s decent but if i HAD to give it a buff…make it also effect allies too by making it heal actual health at the same rate.

Well, I would have loved for them to have given her a mini ultimate ability for Hecate when building the teleporter, which would teleport enemies to the opposite teleporter in an area around it, so she could use it to push away enemies that are attacking her or attract enemies that are far away.

So is the increased range, you can absolutely Merk an entire team after using a reinshield to charge or something of the sort. It’s like 150 dps or something, and at full charge the range is nuts with that perk.
This post is just and admission of not realizing potential.
I found her perks to be above average personally. Having four turrets increases your coverage quite a bit, and lets you stock up pre-combat. The only downside is that it takes a whopping 40 seconds to get them all back.
The extra range on her beam is also quite good. It increases from 12m to 15.6m at max charge. This not only makes it safer, but easier to maintain. That might not sound like much, but it’s at least a couple torbs in length.

Those are cool and I’ve LOVED 30m tp. It gets you basically anywhere you want on the map. I still have complaints about sym, but her perks are not part of those. I’ve found her perks to be quite impactful, more so than many others
I feel like her perks are decent. 4 sentries and healing next to your teleporter are strong. The other two don’t seem as worth it, especially the beam range one.
been using the beam range abit, its good on some maps where you want to chip abit further away. also helps with targets that run away too often.
They have already said that they nerf her because of ‘‘pro-play compositions’’. Despite sentries, despite lock-on beam, despite whatever people want to bring up, Sym being a noobstomper is mostly a myth and even the devs kind of know it.
Its weaker than shield regen for the sake of healing back while running away or TP kiting but too weak to be used in combat against anything that isnt Moira and maybe Winston.
Its and 4 Sentries are probably the only perks here that is on the right direction, but TP regen is just flat out grossly undertuned.
Genji is a noob stomper hero too but that hasn’t stopped blizz from giving him strong perks.
