There are 3 archetypes in ow , dive , brawl and poke
Dive - heroes that can go in and out of enemy turf.
Sym tp let’s her play as a dive hero but tp health is very low to make her stay at enemy turf for long. Tp sym is also called as distraction sym
Brawl : heroes that face enemy head on
Beam sym can brawl but her health is so low that she needs constant care
Poke: usually long range heroes
Orb sym plays as poke style, but she needs one drop of heal act as a breakpoint
Anti flanker : turrets but they don’t do enough damage and act as a disrupt or rather than dps
Currently her brawl and dive playstyle is very weak , she’s only good at poke , she dies in 2 seconds the moment she tries to even charge her beam. Please fix her
She just fails on all levels. All her identity and hero fantasy pretty much vanished when she was shoe-horned into the damage role. Can you imagine if she wasn’t in the game but was revealed as the new hero, people would think it was a joke.
There are some folks who wants to play DPS but can’t aim. They need a mid-tier noob-tube style character that they can manage to get some kind of value on, even as they melee the nearest wall, with their backs to the teamfight.
And lo, Symmetra and Torbjorn are here to answer their most earnest prayers.
Torb I can understand. Also “Support” Symmetra (release and 2.0) but 3.0 loses the “no aim” stigma, especially after the Turret nerf.
If she was so easy, you would see a flood of Symmetras at higher ranks. Much like how Mauga was everywhere (according to the forums) because of how broken he is/was.
The “sym takes no skill and doesn’t need aim” thing is so weird.
If she’s not tracking perfectly her TTK falls massively and WORSE, her ramp up takes longer to activate.
This means drastically increasing TTK to levels where she dies way before she can kill. Even against a good support, if you miss even a little, Ana/bap/Illari/kiri will absolutely destroy you.
And with her newly nerfed health that’s twice as true now.
And her orbs? Take big aim to get any serious value with. If you’re close enough to be easily consistent, you’re not only in huge danger, you’re also better off using your beam.
If you’re far? Better have some nasty flick aim + tracking or you ain’t killing anything. And even if you do hit consecutively? Super slow TTK + literally 1 hp of healing negates your 2 shot.
