Symmetra still suffers from the same problems

Primary or secondary is in desperate need of a buff. She either needs more damage, faster charge, longer range beam, or projectile speed increase. The least you could do is up her uncharged numbers. 60dps on first charge beam (more like 8 dps per tick) and 10 DPS 0.1m uncharged secondary is so weird and pointless. Imagine any other DPS hero needing to expend at minimum 30-40% of their ammo clip to reach their full damage or shot a slow tiny marble.

Her turrets are a joke and just need to be removed or reworked. 10 second cooldown (30 for all 3 turrets) for a 15 DPS ability that is stationary and has 30 hp with a 7 m range? Why? Torb’s turret has 200 hp and like a 30 m range with a 12 second cooldown AND he can remove it at will. I mean even Ilari’s turret is like a 4 sec cooldown if its not damaged.

TP… it’s a support ability. Flat out. Either make it for Symm only so she’s not a team Taxi or put her back in support and be done with it. I genuinely can’t wrap my head around Symm needing to communicate as a DPS to get value to the extent that she does. Not to mention when was the last time you even saw a TP d.va bomb or any combo? It just DOESN’T WORK anymore and its time to move on.

Wall is such a C grade ult. It can* be good but it can also be walked past, and I’d argue its more of a support ult. Like swap Ilari and Symm ults cause neither fit their rolls (I know it fits their characters and lore but roll wise its backwards)

I’d just like to point out how other characters have gotten specific buffs for the same exact issues Symm has, Like Zar’s primary DPS increase because “They didn’t benefit from the projectile/ hitbox increase” as in the DPS Symm got reverted because of Mauga. She keeps getting balancing based off of other heroes (like a support) and all of her 4 buffs she’s gotten since OW2 launched were all FIXES and QOL changes to her horrid “meaty changes” nerf.

Please, please… I know devs prob dont read these and even less so for a character like Sym but PLEASE do something with her. QOL tweaks, straight up buffs, or a full rework but please stop ignoring the people who actually regularly play her when we say she needs attention.

Other damage-role heroes have offensive cooldowns like, Helix Rocket, Sticky Bombs, or Concussion Mines to supplement their damage. Symmetra does too, it’s called a Sentry, and she can deploy three of them.

Each one does 30 damage per second and slows by 15%. They are meant to be replaceable; but since your feedback wants to remove them instead of arguing for a shorter cooldown; it’s harder to listen or even understand whether Blizzard will be able to parse this or just dismiss it out right.

225, and 13 damage per shot with four shots per second for 52 damage per second. Attack range is 40 meters.

Both Torbjorn’s turret and Illari’s pylon go on massive cooldowns when they’re destroyed. Symmetra’s Sentries do not. She’ll always be able to deploy a new Sentry every 10 seconds, stacking up to three charges.

A lot of old, launch-era Defense heroes have utility. Junkrat has his Trap, Mei her Ice Wall, Torbjorn used to have Armor Packs pulled from scrap off dead enemy targets. Teleporter is definitely an archaic relic from the Overwatch that doesn’t really exist anymore, and it should probably be removed or re-worked into something useful like Petal Platform.

Lots of different setups with Photon Barrier, but yeah… it is another relic from a time that doesn’t really exist anymore. But there are still plenty of “supportive” ultimates in the damage. Here one; EMP. There’s also Molten Core, Duplicate and Blizzard.

Zarya’s a Tank, Symmetra is not a tank. Stop comparing her to a Tank.

The problem here is the constant comparisons Symmetra has to Tanks that she doesn’t belong to, and Supports, that she is not. Part of the problem is Blizzard’s fault for not creating a proper baseline for their Supports when Symmetra was first created and mischaracterizing her; but the other problem is the dogged attempts to constantly fix Symmetra into a role she was not built for.

She is supposed to be compared to Torbjorn, the same spacial control and denial that Torbjorn has, but with stronger burst-oriented mechanics and alternative to projectile-based precision weapons. That is where Symmetra is to be focused and compared to. Players on this forum have never done this, and the feedback of constant comparisons to other heroes not in her role, or her specialization get dismissed and Symmetra gets ostracized and ignored.

Start asking and providing feedback to what is in her kit, instead of wishing she was someone else or something else. Asking for removing key components to her core design will just continually be dismissed.

Don’t like how Sentry cooldowns are so long? Ask for shorter cooldowns. A cooldown of 8 seconds shouldn’t be too bad since it knocks her full cooldown time from 30 to 24 for a full deploment of Sentries.

Asking for faster charge times for her RMB is fine, but be prepared for the fact that this will mean less damage per shot and charge. Or a smaller projectile. Just like the previous changes were.


More damage isn’t going to come, Symmetra is already one of the highest damaging heroes in the role, and the fact that she gets to slow targets on top of that doesn’t really help anyone’s case. Instead it is better to provide feedback that hopes to enhance her role as a builder her like Torbjorn. She’s not a front-liner, she’s artillery and defensively-minded.
