Overwatch has too many DPS heroes. Here’s a rework that would make her a viable support hero that’s able to keep her team alive by use of shields
ABILITY 1 (Shielding)
-Doing damage gives Symmetra shield energy. The more damage she does, the more shields she is able to provide to her team. (similar to how Moira works).
ABILITY 2 (Teleporter)
-Teleporter now deploys 50% faster, (making it easier to get out of tough situations like Graviton.)
ULTIMATE (Shield Armor)
Ever seen Sasuke’s Susano in the Naruto show? Similar to this, Symmetra gives each of her teammates their own Shield Armor. This armor not only shields them from damage, but also super charges their weapons. Their weapons now have an increased rate of fire, and unlimited ammo.
PRIMARY FIRE
-Now has the same range as Zarya’s beam.
SECONDARY FIRE
-Now pierces through barriers like it use to.
ABILITY 3 (Sentry turrets)
-No changes needed
Compensative nerfs:
Since Sym is becoming a support hero again, unfortunately we do need to decrease her damage. I suggest decreasing the DPS of her primary and secondary fire so that she remains competitive with the other support heroes.
Shields regenerate. Plus she’ll have a constant supply of them. If your allies are only taking chip damage, she could potentially keep everyone alive even without healing.
A page from a MMORPG I play that would be relevant for a shield support. However, for Symmetra, I don’t think it would work. But a new hero? Definitely.
Preface: numbers are for example only don’t @ me with, “dat’s too stronk!”
Shield ward
Gives ally 200 temporary shields after 3 seconds any remaining shield health is converted to Healing. So if ally gains ability but takes 175 damage by the time the 3 second timer expires, they’ll heal for 25 HP. If they take no damage they heal for the full 200.
Add in more abilities that function like this and you got a shield support healer.
I don’t think that’s how it works, friend. Healing’s more instant than shields are, which take at least a half second (if not a full second) to regenerate, as opposed to being healed.
