Her damage just feels too low these days. Like during the last classic experimental I was expecting that Sym to feel worst because she was considered trash tier back then, and yet her damage felt way more lethal than the current Symmetra even.
Both her primary fire and secondary fire feel like they are underperforming… Please increase her damage, especially now that bans are out. If people hate going against her they can just ban her now
On console (Plat Games) she’s actually getting banned a ton in the matches I’ve been playing lately. She’s banned on almost every King of the hill mode.
I think they should lean more into her being a shooting hero, and dial back on the cheesy beam/turret playstyle.
It just makes her a cheesy niche pick for king of the hill matches, which now she’s banned on anyway.
Yet she’s pretty meh on the open maps now, when before she was strong on her good maps, and at least viable on the other maps. Now she’s back to being overly niche because of how low her damage output can be at times. It’s just not punishing enough.
I don’t necessarily think she does too little damage, it’s just that she’s one of the heros that have been left behind in a game that is constantly speeding up.
Her whole thing is “stay too close and face my powered up attacks”, but as more things are added like speed boost or general mobility, that danger is non existant anymore as you can escape her incredibly easily.
She just needs to be sped up as well. Cut the charge time, or remove it and standardize her damage.
Not sure how to fix her in her current state. I’m not a Symm player, I just find her frustrating on maps like Ligiang and Nepal, Illios where the contest point is in small-ish indoor area.
I think it would be cool if she had a more hit scan like shooting ability that she could use on wider maps, and her beam for up close damage on enclosed maps. But lets just get rid of the annoying turrets already. Without her turrets I think it would be fine to give her more (less annoying) power elsewhere.
The charge should decay way slower and her range should be greater.
There’s a dumb 2 second penalty to damage when switching targets… why? Does Soljourn get a damage penalty on squishies after farming charge on tank? No.
Yeah, I’m in low rank 6v6, so going against Torb and Symm turrets can feel like your playing 6v7 sometimes. The turrets in low rank are better than most of the players in that rank.
We are probably not playing the same game. Which is why I see Symm bans in my games, and you probably see Widow bans in yours.
The only time people ban Widow in Plat and below is to keep their teammates from playing a throw pick. Bad aim Widows do not take over lobbies lol
This is why I side eye every person who says that Sym is at her best or some nonsense like that.
The turrets have been nerfed and have no power left and suck at holding space. If you are dying towards them its kind of your fault. What is next? ‘‘I died because I didnt take cover on Dva ult, remove the ult’’?
Been playing around in the workshop to give Symmetra a 10 DoT of 3 seconds, for a total of 30 damage, on her max charged orb. Feels good, two taps but gives enough time for the target to be saved.
I also gave her a shieldgate passive that changes up breakpoints allowing her to take an extra hit from powerful but slow firing weapons. Rapid fire weapons don’t even notice the passive.
If there was a way to make orbs and Turrets charge her beam I would but the shop is very limited in that aspect.
