Since the new changes to Teleporter have further divided the Hardlight community, I would like to throw out some ideas to streamline Symmetra and finally give her an identity befitting a Utility DPS.
Primary
Remove the beam. It encourages YOLO playstyle and with Symmetra’s limitations, it barely sees any use.
Instead, Orbs are now her Primary. They function the same but are now sped up to 35 meters per second. Adjustments after experimentation.
Secondary–Photon Prison
Barrier HP: 150
Range: 30 meters (targets like discord orb)
Duration: 4 seconds
Cooldown: 12 seconds
Places a barrier on an enemy that you and your team can shoot through but the enemy and their allies can’t. Enemy can still move around and use abilities but they cannot harm you or your allies if they have no abilities that can go through barriers (Winston tesla cannon, Brigitte’s primary etc) they also cannot recieve support from allies if said abilities cannot go through barriers. Victim and their allies can shoot at the barrier to make it dissipate faster.
Turrets
Speed up travel speed to match Zenyatta orbs of Destruction. No longer goes on cooldown when placed, only when destroyed.
Teleport
As it is now
Ultimate
As it is now.
This will give Symmetra more utility and remove restrictions that her new changes will place on her as she will have more effective ranges and options to support her team/hamper opponents.
