serious question but is there a reason why she couldnt retain tele and be able to switch from build a wall and make mexico pay for it ult to her tele ult, she used to be able to switch ults before, i just think if she had the choice between both ults she would be more versatile, imagine using a normal tele to sneak behind the enemy team while they are distracted and then using your ult tele to sneak the rest of your team behind them to take them by surprise

Because Teleporter became an ability as many suspected would happen. Also, Shield Generator at the time was powerful because of Brigitte who was very overpowered at the time with 100-150 armor and Shield Bash was frustrating for players too. People became hard to kill as well. It was fun to do but not fun to play against.
Not many people could go after the shield generator either.
neither of the ult was good anyway and the game wasnt meant to have multi ult in the first place.
the generator could be used to cheeze with brig torb and sym.
and the tp could tp to the point but was limited in uses
They reworked her. She has higher dps. She isnt a support anymore. Well shes like 20% support. Her teleporter can be used by team mates much like zens discord orb increases your parries dps on one target.
They buffed her dps at the cost of utility.
They also nerfed her shield piercing projectiles for higher speads.
They reworked her primary fire to be harder to hit especially against agile opponents but higher damage potentials.
I miss shield generator. Other then the annoying voicelines (“I get the feeling they have a… shield…generatoooor”) it was the whole reason i loved playing sym and having sym on my team. The ability to give EVERYONE permanent shields on their HP was infinitely better then a wall that stretches to infinity.

i miss shield gen the most.
when I first got overwatch I started playing symmetra and I just found shield gen useful in all situations, it was really fun.
old ults were much better than this oversized rein shield…

Rubbish, teleporter and shield generator were both game winners, at least at my sr high gold.

the issue i had with shield generator is mostly junkrat but also on 2cp maps it just made the entire attacking part much less fun and its painful enough without it 
that said tele is good for the attacking team for 2cp so i think these changes would make attacking less painful at least on 2cp
Because her tele is now accesible to her the majority of the time. Which makes it far more valuable then it ever was an an ult.
Or… You could just teleport behind the enemy team WITH your team alongside you in the first place instead of forcing them to fight one or more 5v6 fights.
